I doubt any non-Hillary women would have a shot, though. However regrettable, it’s the culture they have to work with. Hillary is seen as a tough broad and her name recognition is sky high. What if Trump ends up beating her? Would you agree with that sentiment, or do you think someone else could’ve stepped up?

For one thing: Looking back, my first few posts take a bit to really find that wildly sarcastic tone.
For another: I do have some substantive political disagreements with both Hillary and her husband, and I should probably focus on that argument.

But yes, I am offended at anyone trying to sell me on the Return of the (a?) Clinton(s) as some kind of great triumphal march into power for “feminist” or “progressive” causes. And I’m offended at the idea that voters (who chose Obama over her in 2008) really wanted her back for some reason. No, it’s mostly their hangers-on and fan club getting excited at the old team’s comeback. I think George Stephanopoulos’s attitude on ABC’s coverage of the debate Saturday night sent me over the edge.

I am not an advocate of dirty politics, but when a party disregards the most basic tenets of morality and sense, much as Bill Clinton himself did, then it actually does good to teach them the error of their ways by making them fully reap the consequences of their decision.

Bill Clinton’s affairs aren’t important? Let’s see what happens when he’s blackmailed. Better us than foreign governments. He’s already demonstrated that he’ll do anything to get out of having his affairs revealed. Does anyone here think he’d bravely do the right thing if faced with that choice?

Since no money is involved, it’s probably not even technically illegal. Here is the blackmail statute:

No money or property is being asked for here. and how often do politicians go to jail when the situation is vague? Not often. They can hire the best lawyers. The Clintons reputation would be even more in tatters and all they’d have gained is a trial of a Republican official that went nowhere.
