We’re faithful Jeopardy! viewers, rarely miss a show, and have been that way for years, but it took until last night when I was watching Trebek make his appearance in the opening that it suddenly hit me.
I haven’t been able to locate a YouTube clip of the opening as it is being done in the current season, but this one is similar enough to use as an example to keep in mind:
I thought this was going to be about the fact that one of Tuesday’s contestants was a Judaic something/Hebrew teacher and the Final Jeopardy category was “The Old Testament”.
There are plenty of those sorts of things, for sure. What’s great is when the “expert” either misses the question(s) or gets beat out buzzing in for the whole category.
My point had to do with the profile entrance behind that screen looking thing. It just hit me last night that Alex walking in behind that translucent screen was too spooky close to the Trololo guy’s entrance.
Well, if that’s all you see, I can relate to the lack of amazement. As I say, I have seen that intro walk-in hundreds of times and it just hit me last night.
The top comment on the Tro-lo-lo youtube compared him to a robot. So I thought you were comparing Alex to a robot. And Dick Gautier played Hymie the Robot on Get Smart.
Okay. I see your point now. No, Alex doesn’t look like a robot to me so much. But somebody who does walks could have fun with that entrance, especially with the hand-rubbing part.
Wow! I’m just now catching the real coincidence of this whole thing. I was aware of the coming Watson challenge but I swear whatever that was doing to my subconscious with Trololo guy is a mystery to me.
I wonder how they could set up the questions/answers so that a Magic 8-Ball could play…
I have a fear that everyone who has ever watched the Trololo guy has had some sort of subliminal command implanted in their brain and will all, bit by bit, turn into aliens when the command is activated.
