Good morning my lovelies! I’ve been up awhile, sipping my coffee, and just generally goofing off.
My work week was long and I’m glad it’s over.
We went to Costco last night to look for a weight bench, but they didn’t really have any in the store. They have one on-line, so we may end up just getting that one.
My poor daughter was sick last night. I think she has a low grade flu, again. Poor thing, she toughed it out at work because she needs the money. Hopefully, she’ll feel better today. She hasn’t gotten up yet, so I don’t know how she’s doing today.
My fingers are crossed for you **Pugs; **I hope they can figure things out.
Bobbio, that cookbook is uh…somthin’ alright.
As far as I know, I have no real plans for this weekend. I plan to just hang out, and take care of various household chores. I really wish I had a housecleaning fairy. I hate cleaning house and doing laundry. Well, doing laundry isn’t hard, it’s the folding and putting away that gets on my nerves.
Guess I’ll cruise the net for awhile now. Besides, it’s time get another cup of joe.
Puggy, I don’t know if I should be amused or alarmed that I actually made sense of that sentence. Can I put project-speak on my resume as an additional language?
tarra, it turned out that I didn’t have bone-in chicken, so I postponed the experiment to tonight (I could’ve sworn there was some in the freezer, but either I was wrong or it’s now freezer-burned beyond recognition). Sorry to drag out the suspense.
Time to sneak out for an extended lunch… Indian buffet is calling my name.
Yeah, there’s one calling my name as well. Just as soon as I get my jeans out of the dryer. Dog walking turned out to be a dismal failure, so I guess I get to wait until tomorrow.
Apparently WOWCrack & his kids are coming this weekend and WOWCrack’s gf is stopping by Saturday. I shall be locking myself in my room because this is my long-awaited weekend off and I am Not Feeling Social. I shall instead be cleaning my bathroom.
Hmm, turns out I have various errands to run. I need to run my daughter to Safeway to pick up a couple of paychecks, take her to the CU so she can deposit them, drop her off at a restaurant where she’s meeting friends, and then I need to drop off rental movies.
Indian buffet is also calling my name, but apparently not Mr. Lissar’s. I’m going out for a friend’s birthday tonight. Mr. Lissar has opted to stay home, even though my parents offerred to babysit (and will come over for a bit while I’m out), partly so as not to freak our Delicate Flower Toddler out, and partly because on Fridays Mr. Lissar feels likes hiding at home drinking. Which is what he’ll be doing when I get back. I just found this, and it’s brilliant. It’s a formula for parents to figure out how much sleep you really got.
Except today I’m too tired to do the math. I was up four times in eight hours for ten minutes each time.
Sadly, no one wanted to join me for Indian buffet and I prefer to have company when I’m gorging myself on curry. Sniff.
So instead, I grabbed Greek takeout and took the long way back to the office, beacuse it’s so gorgeous and sunny and warm outside. In fact, it’s so nice I just might walk home too… I feel like I’ve been cooped up inside for months (which, in a sense, is pretty much the truth). Wheeeeeeeee.
(now I just need to wait for New Boss Guy to come by and confirm what our plan is for Monday, because after that I plan on getting the hell outta here… ain’t no way I’m sticking around until 5pm today)
Yeah, that’s how I feel on Fridays too (well, minus the drinking… just the hiding/chilling/crashing-on-the-sofa-in-front-of-the-tv part), and it’s sometimes hard to explain to those around me why this is a sacred ritual, not to be disturbed unless someone cut their arm off. And I mean off, not halfway or clinging-by-a-thread. And large cuts, even if they’re bleeding, certainly don’t count!! Interrupt my quiet Friday evening at your own peril!
…and since New Boss Guy just popped over and confirmed the plan for Monday, I have absolutely no reason to stick around.
taxi, I feel the same way about my Fridays. Strange to think that once upon a time, staying home on a Friday night would have been unthinkable… now, I get downright snarly at the idea of having to be sociable n’ stuff.
The drinking part sounds good, though… I think a beer run on the way home is called for.
Frankly, I like to just chill on Friday nights too. I’m soooooooo exciting.
Well, I managed to get my errands taken care of, and even stopped a sporting goods store to check out weight benches. I told hubby what I found, and now he wants to go down there and check it out too.
I also picked up four more rental movies. I’m hoping that tonight I’ll just get to chill and perhaps watch a movie, while sipping an adult beverage or two.
It’s drizzly and gray out today.
That is all. Other than I want to eat something, but I don’t know what.
The Olympic weight bench has been purchased, along with some flooring so the sweat doesn’t drip on the carpet.
Now, I get the “pleasure” of rearranging the spare room and squaring it away. It used to be my son’s bedroom, but he moved to the bonus room and is using THAT as his bedroom. When he moved rooms, he moved one of the bookshelfs and all the books into the old room. Unfortunately, he did not bother to reshelve the books. Also, there’s other various bits and sundry in that room that need to be moved and put away. I’m not looking forward to it. Blech…
Well, instead of procrastinating, I should get a move on…
Howdy Y’all! It’s the [del]sloppy drunk[/del] slightly tipsy bachelor here!
Why yes I have had a beerverage or six, why do you ask?
Work was, well… YAWN It was sloooooooooooow all day. I considered buggin’ out after four hours cause, well, it is a day off for me, but I was a good bear and stayed until four. One good thing is that since it was slow, I did some of the on line learnin’ courses we’re supposed to stay up on. Matter of fact, I’m almost caught all the way up now. I was on the verge of being called a bad bear for not doin’ 'em, so that’s good. I hate 'em! They are sooooooooooooo booooooring! Seriously. On four of ‘em (I did seven, YAY ME!) I skipped right to the “knowledge test” and scored a hunnert percent without going through the “course”. The other three I did actually read the content cause I needed to bein’ as I didn’t know jack about 'em but still managed one hunnert percents afterwards on the first try. Thus, I have impressed TPTB with my mad ATT skillz!
Puggy YIKES! If you need prayers and stuff let us know, ok?
Oh and since I am a bachelor, I had bachelor supper. doggio will be proud. I stopped by the Burly Butcher store and bought a package of two smoked chicken laig quarters and frozen mac & cheese for dindin. I even remembered to nuke the mac&cheese before eatin’ it. It was accompanied by, of course, a beerverage with a few more for dessert.
I’ve managed to square away the extra room and lay the flooring for the new weight bench. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. We got enough to cover an 8X8 area. I think I need at least another two sets of tiles to get another 8X8 area. That should be enough…I hope. I’ve already dropped sixty bucks on those tiles, and now I’ll need to drop another sixty bucks.
Well, guess I’ll run down to the store to get them. Blech.
Whew - on line at last. I was going to leave work early today - well, I left about 30 minutes early - big whoop. I came home, changed into grubbies, then we went to the marina. **FCD **had been there earlier, so our boat now has a name and hailing port on the stern - I shoulda taken the camera… Anyway, when I got there, he masked the bootstripe so I could paint the second coat of bottom paint. He did some touchup and I put a coat of black on the bottom.
After about 2 hours, the boat was well-blackened, and I had black speckles on my arms, my face, my glasses, probably my hair and my clothes. But the boat looks goooooooood! Then we came home, showered, and went to the Happy Dragon, the non-Bad Chinese place. But frankly, for the price, it wasn’t that great.
Now we’re home. It’s raining. I’m going to read the funnies, then maybe have some ice cream. This weekend will be spent mostly knitting, with some laundry interrupting me. I may go to finish the last bit of paint touchup on on Sunday afternoon if the rain stops by then. Other than that, chill…
The blue jays are back! When I left for work, a largish bird went by out of the corner of my eye and when I saw said bird which had landed under my eaves, there it was – a big pretty blue jay. Yay! And the robins are also back. It’s spring, even if it might snow tomorrow.
MamaTigs is fine, just not doing the online thing right now. I am also fine, though I don’t wanna go to work tomorrow. But I have to. I enjoy having the money to, oh, eat.
