MIL wanted a burger from Denny’s for lunch. We just got back. I am not impressed, but I did learn my FIL is a terrible tipper. His tab was nearly $30, and he tipped $2. So unfair for a very nice, attentive server. Our tip made up for it a little, but not enough.
FIL is also a terrifying driver…
Last load in the dryer, then I can pack for tomorrow. Higgs is nervous - she suspects something.
My late Dad could be if you weren’t from my particular gene-pool. He was fast and what most people would call aggressive but smooth as silk. He may blast past you 45mph faster than you are and cut across within inches of your bumper but he did it so clearly under control that you wouldn’t even lift your foot off your gas. He was never in an accident of any kind at speed (he got hit by a backhoe while he was stuck in traffic beside it) and he never got a ticket. He deserved one almost every day; he just had that odd sense of always knowing where and when to lift the hammer.
He was the one who taught me on the interstates to look for that car passing at 95mph. Then counting to fifteen or so and matching his/her speed. He always called them his “rabbits”.
What scares me is that he moves then looks… or he’s driving along, pointing out something on the side of the road and not watching where he’s going. And he doesn’t use signals.
Howdy Y’all! We got OYKW’s place in shape for the big move in December first. Then we came back to da cave, got cleanded up and went to that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner. I felt like haute cuisine so I got the hamburger steak with onion gravy, mac 'n cheese, green beans, sallit, and Texas toast He paid and I felt like such a gold digger. I also had a diet Coke.[sup]TM[/sup]
Mooooom, you should try driving some place near Rhode Island–not only do they consider driving a contact sport, but signals are aiding and abetting the enemy.
in my personal vocabulary there’s 2 four letter words that begin with s and they both mean the same thing
The white version is only allowed between Dec.22-DEC 27th
… as for swampys nuptials we could make it a dopefest ….tho he has to cook some of the stuff he mentions here ……I might even wear something decent for the occasion…
Iffen it’s at Swampy’s it should be indecent.
I expect the wedding party to be wearing assless chaps.
I got my fruitcake today. Had to drive 15 miles to get it. There’s a place 2 miles away, and I tried to stop there, but it was full of millennials and there were cars parked 2 blocks in every direction. I almost ran over one that was standing blissfully unaware in the middle of the road. :smack:
The mail person also brought me a new pistol so now I’m all set in case of zombies.
Every once in awhile I buy something I don’t have any conceivable need for just 'cause it amuses me.
And the cheese straws. Swampie once said that it was his understanding that no sourthern marriage was legal unless cheese straws were served at the reception!
My son has the group project for History, for which he got stuck being the team leader.
The project is due next Sunday.
He has sent several emails asking who wanted to do what, etc etc.
Two team members responded, each took a section, and they will have their work turned in by tomorrow. That leaves a week for editing, creating the table of contents, blending the sections, and getting a consistant, seamless format.
One guy on the team never responded, so today my son sent another email saying that he hadn’t heard from so-and-so and so he was going to pick up that section but if the other two could add in anything it would be helpful.
Tonight that member responded asking what my son wants him to do.
Kind of late, as everybody else has their stuff together and my son has mostly finished the final section.
How would you handle it, Obviously this guy won’t have much to contribute and it needs to be done now.
Worked a double, so I missed the Canes game. Which may have bee good, because it was a painful game. How painful? "Long lunch with Flytrappainful.
If by “flower girl” you mean wearing a toga and thowing airplane bottles, then I’m in.
Just checked the weather for our ports of call. Lots of clouds and drizzle… so I guess it doesn’t matter that I forgot sunscreen. Much chillage shall ensue.
