I started the day by falling down the stairs. My slip ons need to be replaced. They are too big and don’t stay on. Get shoes that fit y’all! I think i’m ok, with a few aches and pains. I wish I had video, now.
Daughter and her fambly are on the road, so it’s quiet here. I’m washing sheets. Rah.
Dinner with faraway kids was good. Wifey told me on the way down that they had actually had Thanksgiving dinner the night before and last night was going to be leftovers, which was fine by me. Well, they hadn’t even had a turkey, which was slightly disappointing, but they had instead smoked salmon, a crab casserole sorta thing, and pulled pork sliders, along with various sides. 
The salmon and crab were from Son’s fishing trips over to the coast, so fresh and well prepared. Da boy can cook!
Wifey’s corn casserole was an even bigger hit this year. She couldn’t find the recipe so went looking on the intertubez and found one she liked. It was billed as a casserole, but it turned out to be more of a custard full of sweet corn. Yum! If you want to try it, I think it was this one, though I could swear she put some milk in there, so who knows?
As predicted, oldest granddaughter showed up an hour late, as usual, but it wasn’t her fault this time. She was working. 'Sides alla her kids were already there. :eek: She has 4, from 7 yo down to, IIRC 4 months. Two of them are og-awful brats. So much so that Wifey told me on the way home that that was the last year we were going down there for family dinners. For a great-grandma to say that is pretty monumental. It actually seemed to bother her more than it did me, and I hate screaming.
The drive down and back was wet, at times very wet, but not so windy, and the other drivers weren’t too bad, (except for that 1%), so that was uneventful.
All-in-all, a pretty okay holiday so far. Wifey and local daughter have gone out to her studio to paint, which is what they do instead of shopping on BF. I’m gonna play on the 'puter. I might, if I become so inclined, buy a couple of Xmas presents offen the intertubez. Or not. Tonight we’re going to go out to dinner and listen to a local artist play music. The people we’re going with don’t drink, so they have to drive.

Howdy Y’all! Been an uneventful and quiet day here as well. I did my candle duty thing over to the church house and went to Ferd’s for a few things. I got handed a ten dollar gift card whilst there (staff were givin’ ‘em out) so I got my stuff and ten dollahs off. SCORE! OYKW went over to his place to pack up some dishes he wants to keep. Most all of the furniture will stay there as the folks doin’ the rent to own don’t have a lot and are thrilled to have some decent furniture. A small china cabinet (where said dishes live) is all that’s comin’ to da cave and it will fit nicely in the dinin’ room without crowdin’ the room. All the kitchen appliances and the washer and dryer stay as well. His sis made some noise about wantin’ the table in the dinin’ room because it belonged to their grandmother. He told her she would need to come and get it herself. Less noise got made. 
We have noshed off and on durin’ the day so there’s no real need to feed right now.
Home from irking. I am going to make me a plate of leftovers and try to get to sleep early as I have to irk a half day tomorrow and I can’t be late as the girl I am irking with is new and I don’t want her freaking out. She is not yet ready to be left alone. It was busy today but not overly busy.

The food court of the local mall was certainly crowded today at noon, and I thought myself a bit crazy for having gone there, but I got some nice food.
I wasn’t shopping for deals, but just because I needed a few items.

We had leftovers for supper, then I hemmed my new black jeans. I put them on for the first time yesterday and they were dragging on the ground. Not any more! It’s not a great hem job, but it’ll do for the cruise. When I get home, I’ll rip out the hand stitches and do it properly.
I’ve remade both beds, and I vacuumed the 2 bedrooms and the big rug in the living room. The other day, I cleaned the ceiling fans. I’m such a good daughter-in-law!

Daughter texted from the SC border about 6:15. They should hit NC between 9 and 10, assuming normal traffic. They’re supposed to text us at each state line. She’s 33, but I still worry…
I was right; we were back to regular pay and regular messes today. 10k less packages and mismanagement confused things enough that we had to go an hour long. Sunday they must be expecting all Hell because in addition to everything else they are giving every sucker I MEAN DEDICATED EMPLOYEE who isn’t scheduled to work and does an extra $25 in their pay check.
I had already signed up for a double Sunday.
I’ll take the quarter and be happy but mostly it will be for the shits and giggles I expected all along. This is their first Peak ---- its number five for me. I know.
Ruble does everyone get the $25 or only those that sign up for an extra shift?
One of my online friends passed today. It was unexpected in timing, although he had cancer. We chatted every day. I find that I’m still hoping it’s a bad joke.
Woke at 4… dammit… but I found out that daughter et.al. got home safely. I’ve been playing with the tablet but I think I’ll try to sleep some more.
Looks like I dozed for about half an hour. Higgs has been tended to, and I’m caffeinating. Thus beginneth my last day before vacation. Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and rainyish, with rain this mornin’ and then cloudy this afternoon with a predicted high of 66. We shall go over to OYKW’s place to collect a few miscellaneous things this mornin’ and to spiff the place up a bit. It’s not in bad shape but we shall dust, vacuum, clean the kitchen and bathroom and mop both. Really shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours. The rest of the leftovers shall get et up today. Other than that it shall be a chill day.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

if you were scheduled already as part of your normal schedule to work a double or work a single and not add VET, you can still get the $25 by adding a shift to your schedule for Monday or Tuesday.

Again, its just what passes as managers for us right now ------ I am sure this all sounded simple around 2pm in their locked “open offices” - hey lets offer a bribe to get more people to come in Sunday - but since they never bothered to talk to any of us it got less simple once they announced it at Stand-up and the shift was starting and we’re all throwing questions at them and grumbling. :smack: Bosses leaving Da Jungle is nothing new. I got the fire stick irking, looked it up on yt so I didn’t have to talk to a person for reals. Just not in the mood today.
So far I am not very happy with it, but that is often the case with new shit.
It’s almost 1 and I haven’t really done much of anything yet today. Don’t feel like it.
