What are your plans for Black Friday?

I included some of the biggies – feel free to “other” your hearts out.

I’m going to go see J. Edgar with my brother and nephew, then come home and veg.

I’m heading out for a drive in the mountains as soon as I have enough coffee in me to get moving.

Working at home on side-projects (so checked both ‘enjoying a day off’ and ‘working’). Specifically not shopping.

At work with a skeleton crew doing as little as possible, so I voted both “Working” and “Enjoying a day off but not doing anything in particular”. Having 2nd Thanksgiving tonight with GF’s family (we were at my family’s dinner yesterday).

I’m also at work. I know I’m not the only one here because a new girl just walked by. My after work plans include as much video-gaming as I can handle. Plus eating of leftovers. I have a turkey sandwich in the fridge which I’m really looking forward to.

My wife convinced me to go to Black Friday at Wally World. The plan was to head there last night at 10pm and wait for the midnight sales. A quick phone call indicated that there were already lines forming at 6pm, so we just forgot the idea and stayed home and did what husband and wives do. I have to say it was a much better time than waiting in line for a product that would be sold out before we even go in the store.

However, our local K-Mart had a “early Black Friday” on Thanksgiving night. We went there at 10pm and there was only about 40 people there. Unfortunately we weren’t early enough to score any deals on the electronics, as that is where the majority of the crowd flocked when the doors opened. But we did get a trampoline for the kids with enclosure for $179! We looked at the same one the previous weekend and it was $349 so we were happy about that. But sadly we didn’t walk away with a $500 laptop for $100.

I coach(assistant) high school cross country. Our boys team and one of the girls qualified for the California State Cross Country Meet so today is a travel day to Fresno.

I’ll be doing a little shopping online, but I’m not venturing out to the stores today if I can help it.

I haven’t decided yet if I want to finish painting the living and dining rooms or if I should get the outdoor Christmas decorations up since it’s so nice out today. I hate wasting a nice day inside but I really should get the painting done… and it feels funny to put up decorations in November. But I have the day off and it’s really a convenient time to do it.

Likely scenario: I’ll be unable to decide and just stay on the computer all day watching for lightning deals on Amazon.

I went to Wal*Mart last night at 1030 to stand in line for a TV that went on sale at midnight. The lines were already ridiculous, so I just ended up wandering around the store, browsing and people watching until about 1145. Turns out the lines were just to get a ticket to purchase the TV at the checkout. I found the end of the line and got a ticket shortly thereafter. It was just the standing in line to checkout (almost an hour!) that was the worst part. The line at Kohl’s was crazy too. I ended up getting home around 300. Now here I am at work at 800 alone answering the phone until 400. It’s going to be a looooooong day.

Worked the retail front lines last night, from 5 pm to 4 am. Drinking a bottle of wine now, then I’m going to sleep. Whee.

I’m the only one at work today, oh joy, so I’ll be browsing online. I keep the heck away from brick-and-mortar stores on Black Friday.

My main job has off, but I am working on a side project.

Drink two. That shift is Evil.

I did the Wal Mart thing and got a ticket for a cheap laptop for my son. It was kind of fun - we’d never done that before. He’s extremely excited. He also got a set of 1,600 Legos for $30 and I grabbed a few other things on my list. They make it so easy, what with a map to the store and a list making option and all. :o

We decided to do this all very last minute, so I’m lucky I ended up at the right Wal-Mart.

I’d venture out to the stores if it was worth my time. I’m not standing in lines for days hoping to get 1 of 20 items per store. Didn’t see any normal sale items that made me excited.

Working. Just like yesterday evening. :smack:

I ran to the grocery this morning and have to work 2-11 PM this evening. Bleh. I drove from Evansville IN to Nashville TN yesterday for dinner with friends and back in the same day so I am kinda beat. Looking forward to a weekend of vegging.

I have a stack of student papers to grade and my own exams to prepare for. And my code won’t write itself. So as usual, working.

Laying down a new floor in the middle bedroom.
