Bluebell Ice Cream Is Evil And A Big Cow Statue... The MMP

You’d think that if everytime you called, no one answered the phone ever, the hint that maybe who you’re calling does not want to talk to you would get taken. You’d think. Right? Then why does this fool who I absolutely do not want anything to do with and who knows this, keep freakin’ calling!

What a hot afternoon! We’ve been at the pool. I was sitting out under the gazebo and got all dried out, so I’m sittin’ here in my bathing suit posting. I came in for some ac for a bit. In a bit I’m gonna put some burgers on the grill. I made N.O.T. salad (HEE! I like that FCM.) to go with 'em.

Just wanted to rant a sec and say howdy. I got company so I need to go back to my gracious hosting duties. Want a beer? They’re in the cooler. See, gracious hosting at its best!

I’m the same way when it comes to hostessing. After one visit, you’re a friend, and you’re more than welcome to help yourself to any food or drink there. I will point you to the fridge or pantry.

Our friends know this and will tell me they’re getting a beer, or whatever, and I say “Help yourself”.

I’m not all stiff and formal. I can’t be like that. I want everyone to have a good time, feel well fed and watered, and feel comfortable. That’s just me, though.

Why, yes, swampy, I’d love a beer. Which reminds me: I forgot to buy some when I went to the grocery earlier. Oh, well. Need to clean out the fridge before the little brother gets here tomorrow. Guess I’ll buy the beer once I’ve done that.

I’m all showered and ready for dinner. Got lazy and didn’t really clean or put anything away once I came inside. I’m not feeling at all guilty because I got lots done outside and even remembered to start the dishwasher so that I have stuff for the lunchbox tomorrow.

Off to eat. I’m hungry!!!

GT

Last load is in the washer - dang, my girl wore a lot of clothes in 9 days! OK, it wasn’t *all * hers, but mostly. We’re all just chillin’. Except for Robert, who’s whining about being bored. It’s definitely time for him to go home.

Did I tell you my kid is doing a cross-country trek with a friend of hers? She’ll take Robert home on the 4th, then go meet her friend in Orange Park. On the morning of the 5th, they’re taking off for Seattle via a bunch of other places, then back by way of Mt Rushmore and some other places, planning to return to Orlando by early August. Yeah, I’m thirlled…

Actually, I think it’s a great idea, but I’ll worry the whole time. They’re going to have a ball. I’ll try not to fret too much. But I’m a mom and that’s what we do. So you’ll hear some whining from me over the next month. Deal. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve still got brownies - anyone want some?

gt beer’s in the cooler, help yourself. And just what do you eat for lunch that you have to run through the dishwasher first?

I sneaked back in for some more AC. I gotta get back before I’m accused of bad hosting, I guess. Ummm… I’m kinda ready for everybody to leave. I want to clean stuff up so’s I can relax a bit before beddy bye time. I am working tomorrow. Ok, we’ll probably make it a [sub]very[/sub] short day, but still I’m working so that counts.

Yesterday, we spent prepping the stuff in the storage unit to move, and that’s the first chunk of the packing process that’s completely done.

Today, we went to the VunderLair by way of Lowe’s, where I dropped $1200 on painting supplies and a riding mower. Payroll this week on the Vunders…

Oh, and I changed the locks on the house. The former denizen was completely out when we showed up today, but not yet out of the outbuildings. That was expected… Moved in a good chunk of my tools to the house, so I can take down the paneling and start painting on Tuesday.

I’ve calmed down a bit, after being wired from the stress of closing, and now I’m fretting over the amount of work I have to get done before moving day…

Bobbio just think about when it’s all done. You’ll have a f-aaaaaa-bu-lous new VunderLair! So, did he leave you any stuffed critters? What color paint did you buy? Bought the road flares for the demo yet? What kind of riding lawn mower did you buy? Me, nosy? Why not a bit!

[del]I got rid of[/del] err… All my guests left finally. Everything’s cleaned up and put away and I’m all showered. It won’t be too long before beddy bye time. ACBG is at his place cause we both have to work tomorrow and he needed to do a couple things tonight. We’re going up to Parrott, GA on Tuesday to celebrate the Fourth. This is a kinda strange tradition thing that started about five years ago. I’d rather just stay home and lounge around the pool, but we’re going up to friends’ house for a bbq. Heh. Interesting thing, is we were both going to this thing before we got involved with each other. Me every year him only once cause he sometimes is working, being a nurse type person and all. Sick folks still get sick on holidays and all that. Rigs can explain that technical nurse type stuff better than me.

I noticed something this afternoon. There is a hot pink boomerang on the roof of the house two doors down from the swampcave. I can honestly say that before today I had never seen a hot pink boomerang. I would have never thought of making a boomerang in hot pink. I suppose that’s why I’m not independently wealthy. I just can’t come up with these ideas.

I got a Bolens yard tractor. My Dad used to work for Wheelhorse when I was a kid, and we always had on of their models that had attachents to do about everything. Mowing and snowplowing were the biggies. The one I have isn’t so big, and there aren’t too many snow drifts to plow in Nawth Carliner, so a mower deck and a hitch in back fo a yard wagon will do.

I still haven’t figured out where to get fusees. Auto parts store?

He did leave behind a couple of sets of antlers, minus the skulls. VWife says they have to stay in the garage…

The paint was in many colors. I’ll post pics of the joint after we’re done with the makeover. This shouldn’t be as traumatic as FCMom’s. The house isn’t ugly, it just needs to have the spirits of bachelorhood exorcised. :frowning:

hell, yeah!

I have a stupid question and I realize I’m probably a few years late with this - wtf happene to the Montreal Expos? did they become the Washington Nationals?

Wow. I despise baseball, and even I knew that… :stuck_out_tongue:

to be honest, this is the first season in seveal years I’ve actually paid attention to more than how badly the Mets were doing.

Yawn.

Long day. Everything I tried to do was either late, wrong or rained on, and NONE of it was my doing.

I hatehatehate not being in control, at least somewhat.

Aaannnnnd, my cell phone pooped out on me last night, and it’ll be Wednesday before the replacement comes from Cingular.

And, I have 200 pages to read in this book before tomorrow night, because it’s due at the library Wednesday, and Tuesday I’ll be at the ballgame all day, and firework-watching all night.

But on the bright side, the Kid’s car finally got fixed, I’m going to make myself a big bowl of buttery, salty popcorn to stain the library’s book with and relax for the night.

In the morning, a quick workout, shower and a nice hour-long massage by the cute Jennifer. So, that’ll be better. I’m hoping.

You guys mind if I grab a brownie and a beer?

Thanks.

Codgerhood begins at 70. I guess the female equivalent is codgerette. It was a long hot day at work, so it is time for steak , salad, and french fried N.O.T.. Oh, and beer, lots of beer. I’m off tomorrow, so i can goof off. I was smart and did my cleaning during the workweek, so I can slack off on non-work days.

Mmmm, thanks for the beer, swampy. I don’t usually like chocolate with beer, but I think I’ll have one of FCM’s brownies as well.

Ummmm, my lunch has to be sterilized because of my rare illness??? Yeah, that’s the ticket. (I gots tupperwares in the dishwasher, silly swampy…) :stuck_out_tongue:

Dinner was tres yum. Burgers with fixins and fruit salad and then ice cream for dessert.

I’ve been a bum since I got home and now I’m toddling off to bed. I’m hoping I can get up early and do some cleaning, or at least putting away… I really need to master dogbutler’s technique. I always mean to clean and organize during the week, but somehow it never happens.

GT

wait a tick - you’re complaining about being 35? you’re a child!
and if you’re half way to codgerhood, where, at 47+, does that put me? (of course, in hexadecimal, I’m only twenty-eff.)

I’m not complaining, I *want * to be a codger. It sure beats the alternative.

47 is 2/3 of the way there, but you don’t look over 33.

 flatterer

Back On Thread:

I got Key Lime Pie Bluebell and meh.

Meh! I say!
I like Key Lime Pie. I like Lemon Pie. Just doesn’t work with ice cream.

(Though over the holiday weekend, my sister’s non-native English speaking fiance was invited to eat it. “Key? Aren’t those the the to turn the locks?”)

Brassy, MMPs (Monday Morning Posts) last only until the folloing Sunday, and this particular thread is so last week. Iff’n you wanna play with the cool kids, you need to look here…
