Bluebell Ice Cream Is Evil And A Big Cow Statue... The MMP

:blushes:

Wait, that’s a good reminder,right?

DogBut, I deserve a :smack: All this time, I had you figgered as a youngin…

Oh yes - a very good reminder! And you’re one up on him - you’re a hockey fan!

I think I forgot to congratulate Bobbio on his newfound homeownership. Hope the extra stuff gets cleaned up right before you get there.

Your dinner sounds yummy, TWO. I love salmon. Swiss roomie sounds like fun, too.

I was a good girl and planted some more and greatly expanded the bed. Probably one more round tomorrow morning and the first bed will be done. Yay!

I had ice cream for dinner. Delish.

OK-so my coworker got back to me and I am back on the 4th. This is good mostly because I could use the holiday differential. Also, my boss can’t look at it later and say that I didn’t do my holiday (amazing how switching etc is forgotten…).

It was an odd day at work–there are some truly sick people in the world. I don’t mean mentally il; I mean sick.

But overall, a good day at work.

nope, I’m half way to codgerhood.

Hi! Hi! Hi! I’m here! I’m here!

We left at 8:00 this morning to go up to Lake Kachess to play on the water. It was absolutely lovely up there and warm too! The water was a little cold (it is a lake in the mountains, after all), but once you were in, it wasn’t too awfully bad. I got right up on the wakeboard and got right up on the water skis too. I’m a lovely golden shade, although my shoulders have started peeling. Oh, well.

Mr. Taters hurt himself somehow while skiing. He pulled something in the back of one of his legs. Hopefully, it’ll be fine in the next couple of days.

Our friends brought their video camera and taped us while we were skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding. Tomorrow they’ll bring the necessary equipment over and we’ll burn it to a DVD or CD. Should be fun to watch.

I need to get some food in us now.

How far along is codgerhood? And what is the female equivalent?

I want to go to the lake! However, Sister and Brother-in-law, with one friend, one child and one grandchild are coming for the weekend and staying through the week. I really don’t like it up there on holidays and weekends anyway - too many ill-mannered people on motorized water equipment. A slue is a no wake zone, and any asshat knows you don’t go at full speed when there are people in the water. With the exception of the asshats at the end of our slue, who only have one speed on their “personal watercraft” - wide open. And they invite everyone in West Georgia and East Alabama who has a “personal watercraft” to visit, so the area sounds like a weedeater convention all weekend long. And to think we used to go up there for peace and quiet.

I may go up on the 4th - Brother-in-law can usually be counted on to spend serveral hundred dollars on fireworks. I love fireworks! But I hate to leave Sugar Magnolia all here without a human; she’s terrified of firecrackers and there will be a bunch going off in this neighborhood that night.

I did the coding right!

:::does little happy dance::

I am at last in possession of a Pottery!!! We love it!!! You do great work FCM.

Glad you like it Bumba, dear - I set that one aside for you before I let people start picking. Because I care.

I must say, I’m impressed with the USPS and their handling of the Priority Mail - they really got those babies moving! I expect everyone else will have theirs by Weds, figgering the holiday will toss a delay in there. But it’s not like they’re perishable. Well, they are, if you fling them at noisy neighbors, but that’s not my point…

I’m up, showered, and dressed. We’re leaving in about an hour for Baltimore. My youngest sister is meeting us for breakfast, then we’re going to pick up our baby from the cruise ship dock place (is that nautical or what??) Today’s plans include the traveler doing her laundry, me finally fixing her pants (I really meant to do it yesterday) and generally relaxing and stuff. I think she wants to try throwing a pot or two, so we’ll do that also.

It’s been a fun week with Robert - I’m glad he’s going home tomorrow. I’m of the unalterable opinion that women who get pregnant at my age are out of their flippin’ minds! I can’t imagine dealing with a wee, tiny one 24 hours a day, what with a semi-independent 12-y/o running me ragged…

Tomorrow afternoon, our lives return to normal, mundane, and Spongebob-free. Bliss…

In all fairness, he is running you ragged because you are not used to having him around.

Most 12 year olds are practically self care. Also, you did alot of “let’s go have fun” stuff–sure to exhaust anyone. A nice hammock, some iced tead and a good book, now…

Off to work now–whee!

Oh, quit being all logical on me! sheesh. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know if I’d had him from the starter kit, it would be a completely different situation, but still, at my age, I should be a grandmother, with an occasional opportunity to spoil a kid and lots of quiet and order otherwise. THAT is the way life is supposed to be. I’m sure it’s in the Bible somewhere. Maybe in Leviticus…??

Good morning everyone! I hope all is well with each of you.

FCM, houseguests are nice for a short stay (no matter the age), but they all end up exhausting one. It’s great when they finally leave because then you can sit around and do nothing or read or watch what YOU want on TV or well, whatever.

Mr. Taters leg is still hurting him, dammit. Of course, he just got up, so maybe some of the pain will shake out during the day. I really hope he didn’t tear something.

Today’s plans calling for straightening the house, going to the store for some food, and BBQing. The friends we had out on the lake with us yesterday are going to come and we’re going to burn a copy of the video they took of all us yesterday.

Tomorrow we’re boating some more. My Dad is going to meet us, plus we’re taking our great-niece, and we’re also taking a friend of ours and her two kids with us. It should be fun.

Tuesday is relaxation, plus laundry and stuff around the house.

The nice thing about this lake is that it is so big it feels like there isn’t anyone out there. There were quite a few boats, SeaDoos, personal watercraft, etc out there, but it was not crowded at all. It felt like we had the lake to ourselves. It’s nice not really having to worry about other boater or people on personal watercraft. People are polite up there too. I showed pictures of the lake to **FCM, welby, ** and welbywife when I met them in DC. If they remember the pictures, they can attest to the beauty up there. It’s so peaceful and grand up there!

I can’t wait to go up there on Friday again. If there’s a way to share the camcorder movie from yesterday with you fine folks, I will.

Mr. Taters leg is still bothering him. I am hoping that once he is moving around some more that it won’t bother him so much. Somehow, though, I don’t think that will be the case. :frowning: I think he’s done something bad to his leg, but he won’t listen to me.

My baby made it home safe and sound. She decided a 9 day cruise is too long. Kids - what do they know? <snerk>

I don’t know what the rest of the day will hold - FCD is snoozing and my daughter is showering. There’s a load of laundry running, and several more to follow. Such will be our exciting agenda, I guess. I don’t care - my baby is here!

Yay! I am sure your visit with her will be very nice. It won’t take long to do the laundry with your washer/dryer set. Maybe today can be a relaxation day for all of you. Just kick back, enjoy each others company and conversation; maybe grill something. That can be just as nice or nicer than having to go somewhere.

Sounds like all are having a reasonable Sunday. Hope Mr. Taters’ leg gets better quickly! Glad your daughter made it home safely, FCM.

I’m in clean-up mode. I gardened most of the morning and I’ve bought my groceries for the week and the wine I’m taking to dinner, which I’ve been told will be burgers and brats. Gotta clean some and do laundry and then spread mulch, throw some plants in the holes I left in the beds and then mow a bit. By then it’ll be 5:00 and time to go off to dinner. Guess I should get my little self in gear.

Happy Sunday everyone!

GT

Afternoon! Just got the bathroom seriosuly clean, after dyeing a dress and getting it horribly dirty. I’m thinking about buying some dark plum dye, getting so white t-shirts, and seeing if I can get a nice colour for one more t-shirt dress…

No. Bad Lissla. I now have four.

But it’s just the cost of cheap lunch, and it’s so fun!
Houseguests are exhausting. I always feel like I have to entertain them. Regular friends arre expected to get their own glasses and make me dinner.

Ah yes…I’m a horrible hostess, so guest of any flavor have a tendency to get the “regular friend” treatment. It tends to take longer than average for my “So, would you like something to eat or drink?” to kick in. I’ve learned to warn people about this.

Eeeeeeeeep, it’s ($(&&#%&( hot!!! I have two more bags of mulch to spread and then I’m calling it a day. 'Fraid I’m going to skip the mowing. It can look like a meadow for one more day. But the bed under the one crabapple looks lovely. Well, except for the upturned pots where a few more plants will go. But really, it looks much better. I’ll post pics in the next MMP…

Well, back out for the end of this.
