I love The Pit.
I’m a fan of creative sarcasm, cursing and insults and often you get all three in one from posters at the SDMB. 
And my guess is you can handle your preconceptions being called into question.
Most of those who (over)react to the responses they get in the Pit aren’t reacting to a bad word, they’re shocked that they finally got called out for lazy thinking.
Like one example I’m thinking of, who couldn’t believe anyone would doubt the straw men he’d diligently hand-crafted for years.
