I’m sure if Adam gets fed up enough, he will make his point(s) to the puppy quite forcefully. Remember, five of a cat’s six ends are pointy. In my experience in a mingled dog/cat household, cats do not have qualms about educating puppies (and adult dogs) as to where the cat’s tolerance ends.
Not sure how the venture into candy-making for the sweets potluck at work tomorrow really came out. Pretty sure the butterscotch fudge will be decent, but I probably made too much. The nougat (something I hadn’t tried before) is a little iffier. We shall see. Based on sup’s commentary about making sure we also had very sweet Kool-Aid available tomorrow, she must think our team are hummingbirds :). I predict some rather hyper phone agents tomorrow.
DH is recovering. He’s toddling around the apartment reasonably well, but still isn’t up to trips much longer than apartment to car on foot. Still having the weight loss issue. He has a phone appointment with the pharmacy doctor managing his diabetes care on Friday morning, and I am going to insist that he discuss the weight loss problem in that call, even if I wind up having to take that day off myself to be able to participate in the conversation. A 5’9" male coming up on 57 years old, currently rather sedentary due to injury, should not be only 135lb.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out (way too warm for even here this time of year!) and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for the day. The rain should be over by the time the candy beggars hit the streets or wherever. Tonight’s low shall be 38 Amurrkin! BRRR! No big plans for the day which is fine by me. Sup shall be grilled poke chops. Sides TBD. Not feelin’ inspired right now.
{{{Sunny}}} hope this gets figured out for ya.
Nettie no, that is not good. If you can swing it, I think it would be a good idea for you to be there to listen in on the call.
Butters yay for Buddy! Maybe he has decided the sharp, angry puppy is tolerable.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
That’s the one! You’re one of my FB friends, right? (Sorry, I can’t always keep usernames and real names linked in my brain…) Anyway, if you see posts by Terri, that’s her. Tho lately, she seems to stick with a rather fierce blond color.
Higgs likes to chew on Taz, and Taz will tolerate it up to a point, then he just leaves. I don’t think he’s ever taken a swipe at the dog. Taz is pretty mellow, especially in his old age.
NATS WON!!!
They’re not the reason I only got 4 hours of sleep. I just couldn’t drop off, then my nose got all stuffed up, making breathing a challenge. Guess it’s appropriate that on Halloween, I’m in Zombie Mode…
Tis the end of month so I shall get going on what I can do today.
I hope everyone gets lots of candy. The Child Development Center that is right across the street from my building brings the littles over to trick or treat. They also supply us with the candy and it’s always too much of it. Can’t wait to see what it is so we can pick out the good stuff to keep.
Yesterday I totally went off the low-carb diet. We got out of the house early. (Actually, getting out of the house was novel.) We went to a local eatery, and I had chicken-fried steak with gravy, fried eggs, and I ate half of the Yukon Gold hashbrowns. From there, we drove down to Seattle to visit the Museum of Flight. We had lunch about 1330 at the place inside of the museum. I had a real cheeseburger (i.e., on an actual hamburger bun instead of low-carb bread) with lots of jalapeños and a bag of potato chips. We stopped at Round Table on the way home, and I ate three slices of a medium supreme pizza and had two beers. The first beer was Kitten Mittens Winter Ale. It was good, but too sweet. The second one was a local IPA. I haven’t weighed myself this morning.
The museum was really nice. I wish we could have spent more time, but we saw most of it. We didn’t go into the Air Force One 707 or the Boeing 747, and we didn’t go out to see the B-52. I have a set pace when I walk, and it’s tiring to walk slow. So after four hours of slow walking, I was getting a little tired. Mrs. L.A. doesn’t exercise at all, but she was a trouper. We talked with the docent at the B-29. He’d been a crew chief on one, and had about 300 hours in them. The B-29 is a large airplane, but not as big as they make it out to be on documentaries. (I’ve often noticed how small B-17s are, compared to the hype of the 1940s.) The 747 is also a big plane, but the 787 we walked through gave it a run for its money. The trip home (well, to Round Table) was slower than the trip down since most people were not on vacation and we were in traffic. The good news is that we could take the HOV lane, and that saved 20 minutes from my normal drive.
At 0900 I’m picking up a ramp trailer from U-Haul (half an hour away, in Bellingham) so I can take my motorcycles to the shop. I did get the seat off of the Seca II, when I remembered I have to push down on it while turning the key. So I sat on it. Still can’t get the tank lid open though.
Ten minutes to eight, and I’m on my second cuppa joe. It’s 34ºF outside.
Just finished lunch and about to get back to work. I’ve cleared a lot of crap out of my inbox, and I’ve got enough to keep me busy this afternoon, so there’s that. Glad it’s almost my weekend.
FCM, well, at least you picked the right day for Zombie Mode…
The curse of me doing lists is that I feel the need to get them done right now, so I went shopping this morning, when the weather was either (1) rain or (2) heavier rain. But the November stockage is complete. Added cereal and milk to the list, just to change up on meals for awhile. Need to turn on the dishwasher here in a bit.
flyboy, I’ve been to that museum, glad you enjoyed it (two others to add to the bucket list are the Smithsonian annex at Dulles and the US Air Force museum in Dayton, Oh). Oh, scales lie.
Nettie, concur you listening in on the phonecon. That weight loss could be a precursor to a lot of things.
I was going to get the bikes into the shop, so I went to get a trailer. The trailer’s right turn signal wasn’t working. The guy said he could check my fuzes. Do I have the manual? Not in the Jeep. I found a diagram online, but he said he couldn’t find the fuze. I’d left my headlights on when checking the trailer, and the Jeep wouldn’t start. Had to jump it. The U-Haul guy said he didn’t have time to see what was wrong. I’m guessing a loose/bad wire in the socket on the back of the Jeep. So no taking the bikes for repair. I’ll move them into the canopy garage next to the MG until Spring.
Yukky outside, very grey and wet.
At least it isn’t cold.
The city postponed T or T until tomorrow evening. I may decide I’m not going to be a Halloween grinch and go buy some candy.
I wanted to go to the Mexican restaurant for lunch today since we didn’t go last week, but my son got up and made himself something to eat, so postponed until next week.
We’ve got high winds, storms and our beloved city decided not to move Trick-or-Treating. So I suspect we are going to have a LOT of chips and such left over for our lunches; even if we double up on all the kids. And the bubble-foggers are out but we are making coffee for the adults.
its been a looong week hell hath no fury as a fired relative scorned but oft mentioned cousin might be on her way out finally …
last nights freeze killed off the garden… we dont have pumpkins this year but we’ll live and aunts doing her usual holiday dithering for people who dont really care as much as she does … but im cleaning for the couple of hours relatives are here sos ill report back later …
Domino’s made supper. I had to go pick it up since they don’t deliver here, but it was worth it. Even with the gas, it’s cheaper than having the other stuff delivered. And it was ready when I got there.
The rain is about to move in. We’re keeping the house dark, but I doubt there will be many kids out. And it’ll be an early night for me. I’s mega-tahred!!
Howdy Y’all! I spent the day futzin’ around da cave. Maybe putter would be a better word? Sup got made and et and kitchen is all cleanded up. It rained a good bit today and a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig one came through around four. Dropped the temp from 81 Amurrkin to 63 within an hour. Anywho the rains have moved on so the candy beggars won’t get wet. Although, as a candy beggar, I do remember ToT in the rain. Uphill. Both ways. And we were grateful!
Evening all. Awaiting the first trick or treaters, have the Kit-Kats and Snickers out and ready and the outside lights on. Cool tonight (39F right now) so that may keep the numbers of little ones down.
Rain has moved on, now we’ll see if things start to dry out for soccer Saturday.
I would usually wait but ------ I have to get up early and have some stuff on the car adjusted/tightened. I could do it but ------- I just don’t want to.
We had about 25 TorT and not all what I would call kids. I did deploy the bubble-foggers and they worked even through the wind and mist; they really are amazing little things. The one I suspected as dead from last time is dead so I may hit the Spirit stores tomorrow and get a replacement. When I want bubbles and fog in them I WANT BUBBLES AND I WANT FOG IN THEM DAMMIT! Other than that just getting ready to crash for the night.
ours will start soon as its getting dark here but i dont think well get that many unless the 8ft blinking ghost attracts them as they pass by the cul de sac …
