Borderland on PS3 - Noob needs basic help

I am a real noob on games like this on a console, so please forgive me if my questions are stupid sounding.

Using Borderland on a PS3, downloaded the game, so I have no game manual.
Anybody know where I can download a PS3 manual? Everything I find online ends up being for a PC or something, and the controls are different, so they don’t help much.
Like the basic game so far, but a couple of things I can’t figure out:

  1. When finished playing the game, I do a Save Game. The next time I want to play it, I cannot find any place where I can load in a saved game. All it lets me do is start the game over from the very beginning. Where and how do you load a Saved Game?

  2. I have two Equipped weapons, but in my inventory, I have several other weapons that I would like to equip in place of my regular equipped weapons. The weapons in my backpack are allowed by the Level I am at, but I cannot find anyway to exchange a weapon in my backpack to being equipped. How do you equip a weapon that you have in your backpack or buy?

ETA: it looks like holding triangle and pushing the D-pad swaps equipment out. I could be wrong.
