Yeah. The assault grenadier is interesting and fun . It’s kind of like kid throwing a banked superball around the corner at your sister’s head, except there are three, and they blow shit up 
According to Wikipedia, the band’s genre puts it either in “neo-soul” or just plain “funk” (or indie, but that’s even worse than “pop” as a descriptor).

Agreed. I’m thinking of going Zero. His power is turning invisible and one of his skill tree ultimates is shooting exploding elemental throwing knives at everything when he uses it. So if you take that path you’ve basically copied Lillith*.
*Without the submachine gun, Phoenix, and crazy broken elemental modifiers, of course.
I even posted a screenshot on Steam because of this. I was walking around looking at it all in amazement, when my brain finally re-engaged and I hit F12. I didn’t even have Physx turned all the way up at the time, but I sure do now!
I just did my first co-op. One of the players was Kessler(?) and not sure he was a SDMB dude but he was cool and we worked well and had fun.
But when PUG players joined it sucked. They ran around ninjaing all the loot (ALL of it) and seemed intent on some kind of speed run (the lot of them).
Worse, I saw a chest and opened in. Lo-and-behold it contains two purple sniper rifles! I switch to my inventory to drop some stuff and do not see that one of the PUG players initiated a zone change.
POOF
I’m now in a new zone and the two sexy rifles are gone.
I learn later (revisiting the chest) I burned a golden key on that. Yeah, I guess I shoulda known better but it was the first one I saw and felt rushed because apparently it was every person for themselves (Kessler was cool) and I had never seen one before.
In short, fuck random players. I know my small experience is not everyone (although we had several jump in) and some are bound to be cool but even one joker can seriously mess up the game for you. Not worth the risk.
Play with people you know who want to play like you like to play and it is a blast. Get someone else with different notions and it sucks.
Been having fun playing zer0 lately. I love the look of the game; I never played the original but kept meaning to buy it.
Its interesting having a FPS that tells me how much damage my shots are doing. The banter in-game is funny, and I like the Fight For Your Life mechanic. How long is the game? I’m hoping its not too short like Diablo IIIs was.
Oof, that really sucks. That’s why I don’t like to play multiplayer until I’ve been to a new area by myself and checked everything out. I’m paranoid about missing out on First Boss Kill loot and other things like that.
And yeah - everyone needs to be careful with their gold keys and the gold box in Sanctuary. You might want to send Gearbox a quick e-mail, and see if they’ll send you a code. Can’t hurt - it’s a very user-friendly company.
Incidentally the track is actually called “Short Change Hero”.
And it’s no “Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked” but I’m so, so, so LOVING it. It’s chill and groovy and soulful and I think I’ve listened to it about a dozen times in the last couple of days.

Just as a note for those who regret using their golden key: you can get a new one by signing up for SHIFT in-game (under Extras), and Gearbox is also giving away golden key codes through the company president’s twitter account. I have three keys in total now, and I know some people who have 5 or 6.

. I immediately got into a part of the story where things escalated very quickly and I found out that I, in fact, was poorly armed.
after killing Wilhelm,who was built up as a major boss, pretty easily I thought I was rockin it
but then the whole arc about the city being teleported and having to slog my way back to it, I got killed several times due to poor DPS and defenses
and the final bit of that missionholding the beacon again the never ending robot army, really transferred a bunch of my beautiful money to stupid hyperion’s res boxes.
For anyone who cares there is another golden key code good for an hour or so on the link from Raygun, they say it is the last one for the weekend.
I love that tree, I’m going to hate every minute of it until I get really damn good, but I’m going Ordered Chaos build (with secondary skills in Little Big Trouble, of course). The way they structured Ordered Chaos is a little odd though, since it’s supposed to be “hard mode” (but the most effective build for any character if you can master it), they essentially force you to take a point in all the talents to progress down the tree.
I wasn’t really excited about any of the release characters, and got bored playing them, but I’m really excited for Gaige. The echo casts (#1 #2) has also convinced me that her voice actor (Cherami Leigh) is the best ever, it’s almost scary how naturally the voice comes out.
According to Twitter, Mechromancer is getting a week early release. Meaning you can play as Gaige by the end of TODAY. I’m so happy, I’ve been waiting for Gaige before I played the game because her style appealed to me as much as Lilith’s did in the original. And I played the shit out of Lilith.
And on a completely random note, does default Zero look a hell of a lot like a masked Salarian decked out in N7 armor to anyone else? I just can’t get over how much he looks like a Salarian to me.
I’m playing through as the soldier. I never played Borderlands, but I am really really loving this game so far. It has a lot of great charm and characters, the graphics are fantastic, the music is extremely good. And the villain, even though I haven’t met him yet, has to be simply one of the best video game villains of all time so far. I love hearing his twisted, deranged, awful broadcasts to me.

Just started on True Vault Hunter Mode with Zero. Its much tougher, and I may respec out of sniping since Many Must Fall is pretty disapponting (Rising shot seems better, and is much lower on that tree).
Most fun i’ve had so far was popping the heads off 3 caustic goliaths and watch them vomit acid all over each other for three minutes while screaming how they’re so angry!
