Borderlands 2 General Discussion

Count me in as one of the few who found almost all the other boss battles extremely easy and boring, but the final battle including both Jack and The Warrior were difficult and fun. I actually did do it on my first try without respawning but there were a LOT of 2nd winds in there. I was a commando and didn’t even have a full tech tree unlocked so I might have been a little under leveled, but I really liked it a lot.

I am level 45 in borderlands 2 and all the slots and torque vending machines are stuck on level 30 does anybody know why

You need to set it to True Vault Hunter mode to enable scaling. That assumes you’ve actually beaten the game once, of course. Otherwise, everything is level-capped at somewhere around 30-32. And if you managed to reach level 45 without beating the game just how much grinding did you do?

Yesterday (April 2) saw the release of a free update as well as a DLC pack that extends the level cap by 11.

The free update includes new uses for eridium at the black market (as well as increasing max carried eridium to 500), and a third play-through mode, Ultimate Vault Hunter.

Well I grabbed the update since it was only 5 bucks. Nice to see all my endeavors in the field of being a badass killing machine reduced to impotently pissing myself as bullymongs eat my legs, once again

Bonerfarts.

So Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is one of the best DLCs I’ve ever bought, it’s so much fun, and the writing for it is even more superb than usual.

Anyway, did anybody try Krieg yet? I keep trying to play him, but I just can’t play him for any amount of time, he’s boring compared to my main. I think he’d be better if I leveled him, but it’s tedious.

Krieg is loads of fun. I’ve got him at level 42 or so and it’s revived my interest in the game. He’s really melee centric, and having learned their lesson from Brick, they gave him some phenomenally powerful close-combat abilities, because that’s what’s necessary to make melee viable when the nasty stuff comes out, especially in multiplayer. He’s kind of the polar opposite of the commando - playing just this side of totally reckless is the goal. Some of his best skills for one tree massively increase your shield recharge delay, for instance

He’s also got a -ton- of voice acting, with a lot of it triggering off of certain skills or a series of certain events. Even this far in, I’m still hearing new lines, and it’s usually funny. In quieter moments you can catch some of his inner monologue like in the trailer.

I think they did a good job in the “different & fun” department, whereas Gaige is kinda bland. I’m not sure he’s tuned terribly well; some things seem ridiculously powerful and others seem pointlessly weak. There’s a badass mutant psycho mode that triggers on low health, refills your health instantly, makes you invulnerable for a few seconds, gives you huge damage and resistance boosts, instantly refills your health on killing blows, -and- instantly recharges itself when it runs out. With that, it takes one hell of a nuking to actually put you down. On the flip side, the skill that has you pull out a stick of dynamite during Fight For Your Life and run around at full speed in suicide psycho mode needs an immense amount of stacked explosive buffs just to not hit like a wet noodle. But, it’s Borderlands. Very srs balance is really not what they were going for.

Tina Tina’s B&B is a hell of a lot of fun. A whole lot of inside nerd jokes.
There was one that had me guessing for a long while. You see a vague area, which when you aim at is called “the darkness” You can blow it up easily enough and get an accomplishment called “just like that one video” are some shit like that. Hehe I attack the darkness. But There is a door behind it I wasted an hour trying to figure some way to get behind, and there just wasn’t one after I gave up I think I figured it out

I later found a grenade mod called lighting bolt, which has an effect very close to a D&D lightning bolt. I bet there is a “Magic Missile” as well. When I find one of those I will cast my magic missile against the darkness.
Although I have to say longbowmen suck skagsack. An indirect fire dead-on-balls accurate sniper is just freakin evil, you can’t run down the stairs or duck behind a box to recover against them, they still pound you.

It might be a matter of taste. Gaige is by far my favorite character and the most fun, and so far I’ve found Krieg interminably bland and boring. Different strokes I guess.

As to your spoiler-box

I can confirm that this is the case, but it’s a really rare drop. It can either drop from the Handsome Dragon, Badass Wizards, or I think Badass Necromancers. I’m not even sure it drops outside of True Vault Hunter Mode (or Ultimate Vault Hunter).

Archers are really annoying, they don’t have magical skills, they’re just good at leading you. If you keep your eye on them and the arrows you can dodge them, but I usually try to mow them down first because they’re so eerily accurate. The only skeletons I hate more are the teleporty ones that do a bajillion shock damage.

GTA V sold me the PS3, so I finally picked this one up. Lots of fun! I’m a few hours in, and it very, very much reminds me of Diablo II, except in first person, set in a different world, and with only a little loot from kills, most from chests and whatnot. The loot system is sucking me in with its intermittent reward scheme.

Has anyone else tried the Headhunter packs? I’ve downloaded all three but only done the Thanksgiving one so far, which I thought was hilarious. The Hunger Games could have used an announcer like Mr. Torgue.

Hey, it’s gone virtual!
