Woohoo, where you going? Don’t think I’ve been to J food in Brookline, but if you haven’t tried Oishii in Newton (there’s a South End location, but I heard it’s overhyped) it’s absolutely fantastic sushi. However, the restaurant’s a bit on the small side, unfortunately.
I’m shaking my fist at you in frustration…because tonight is no good for me. I hope you lads have fun, though.
And now I totally want Japanese food. My birthday was a few days ago, you know. It was a big one, too. So, you kind of owe me. (Actually, you don’t owe me at all, especially because I was sick on your birthday, but I’m hoping you’ll have forgotten that…)
Me too!

Sorry, no can do tonight. Still definitely up for the April New Jersey doper invasion, tho.

We’re meeting at a place that’s pretty big, the food’s good, and the prices are so variable that you can go on almost any budget. I went there last year to celebrate the birthdays of three fantastic women. It was a party of maybe 30 people.
First off, Happy Birthday! Second, too bad. Third, hey, I’m sick right now (damned flu!), but I’m going. And then I’m going home to go to bed.
Bad timing, I have a date tonight. Happy birthday, and keep me on the list for the next get together.
Twenty-one already; where does the time go?
Whoa, man! That sounds like* good *timing…or, at least I hope you have a good time.
Now, now…we all know I’m over 21, based on the fact that I’ve been able to enjoy an adult beverage at Dopefests. I have no problem stating for the record that I am 30. (It’s just stating anything above that that I have a problem with).
Aw crap, I spent 4-7 with the grandmama, then had nothing.
If only I was surfing the dope instead of taking are of an old lady.

Hope you kids had a good time.
We had an awesome time. If only one more person had shown up, we could have gotten a party room instead of a table.
I think we pissed off the waitress a little. The check came to $318, and we paid with a bit of cash and 3 credit cards, and somehow came out something like $3 short. One guy was charged the difference for something he didn’t eat.
Auto and his GF got the extra special fancy meal in 4 courses. Pictures were taken. You guys seriously need to see them. The food was fine art.
Curses; I didn’t see this until today. I still haven’t been to a Dopefest, and I might be moving back to the Middle East in the Fall. My chances are slipping away!
Check your calendar in April . No official notice yet, but there are murmurs.
Goody!
Did you go to the fuck you cafe?
Can I request Japanese food now for a Dopefest in April?
Yes, we did, and seconded!
Sorry for the last minute notice, I honestly didn’t think of it as a doper event. I will promptly flagellate myself with a wet noodle for penance :smack:
We had a great time and the food was wonderful. Here’s a description of what my 70$ omakase (chef’s choice) meal included. Each number is a seperate plate.
It’s the fanciest meal I’ve had that I can remember at the moment. Here’s a picture of the main entree. I’ll post other pics when I find them: Facebook
My computer was down, so I didn’t see this until this morning. Hope you had a happy one.
Give him a hug for me…he’s good people.
Happy Birthday, Auto!
I especially love the green peanut M&Ms.
