I missed some of last night’s show, and I can’t figure out something: is the mother really beating that kid up? And even if she isn’t, why was he originally going to be out of school for an entire week? Was she planning to keep him locked in the basement the whole time?

We’ll find out for sure on the season finale, since that’s what they’re obviously building towards.

Personally, I think there’s some kind of sexual abuse going on, but that’s just my hunch, I have absolutely no evidence to base it on.
