Bracing for the holidays in the MMP

I feel like I’ve been lazy. I could be doing a lot more than I have.

I have an annoyance though. The people next door have a car parked out back, no tags, not covered. It has been there for over a month and nothing. When the bitch that does inspections thought their car was on my property she wasted no time sending me a letter.
Next time she sends me a letter I am going to call her out on it.

Got my hair did this morning, ran to the barn and ended up jabbering for over an hour, returned my books to the liberry and stopped at WalMart. Lunch was a crab cake and mini Tater Tots. Took a 2.5 hour nap. Dinner was a turkey sammich and salad. I have vacuumed the downstairs and plan to take a bath and get in my jammies. Then, sloth.

The tenant at Mama Plant’s house pointed out that he has been there for seven years when we had the insurance guy over about a roof problem. I didn’t mention that I’ve made $58,000.00 and change off of him, minus insurance, a furnace and central air conditioning, which are tax write offs. You might point that out to OYKW.

But, I digress.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) wanted to ride the NLR/LR trolley and find a place it passes to have dinner. The one that was open on Sunday has $15.00 cheeseburgers, so we ate at Tortas Mexico and then rode the trolley. It is a gimmick for tourists. The driver spoke like a tour director. “This is the oldest building in Little Rock to have an elevator. People used to picnic and stand in line to ride the elevator. That was before TV.” He got a fire truck to move for us. It was cool rising across the Arkansas river, which separates the two cities. Before the bridge, NLR was known as “Dog Town” because people would row unwanted dogs across and abandon them. We had a good time, and dog number six is going to a young woman who works at our vet tomorrow.

“Rising” should read “riding”, D and S being too close together for a rational person to type.

bumba, I like beet greens mixed with other greens.

Mooooooom, glad MIL is home and not driving.

The yard work is done and other chores followed. Had a trip to Lowe’s with Nelson in tow. He got spoiled by the employees ( I had to refuse the third treat that was offered) and I got a key to my apartment cut to give to Sis when I go north. She and BIL will be coming back a day sooner than I will be, so they can get in here and stay overnight. Now for studio chillage.

Red I took Akiko to Lowe’s as well. She met lots of folks, and decided to pee 3 times. :o I bought a roll of paper towels I wasn’t planning on. She doesn’t usually have issues, but Lowe’s was just too exciting I guess.

Not much going on today. Still smoky, so we’re just hiding inside and keeping our activity low.

MIL ate a good dinner and she seems to be getting closer to normal. Tomorrow, I plan to get all the groceries I’ll need for Thurs. Tonight, I hope to sleep better.

swampy, sorry to say I don’t care for okra either. Can we still be friends, even though I don’t like greens too?

That. Does. Not. Compute.
I go stir crazy after one day in the house; couldn’t imagine four in a row.

IOW, you’re saying you’re irrational. Got it.
Other balloon had an engagement so we were asked to stay for cham-pag-knee & snackies back at the airport. Extra time is not what I’ve got a lot of today, or this week.

Nelson dropped a tootsie roll when we were there, but there are poo bags on his leash for such messes. :stuck_out_tongue:
