Alright, not Brazil, but the Rio tourist board.
My favorite part :):

Maybe the Aussies could get in on the suit. Bart did embarass their country, after all
Obviously they haven’t heard that bug bites only get worse if you scratch.
Looking forward to ongoing Brazil jokes…
“I’m the first non-Brazilian person to travel backward through time!”
Hey, our old smilies are back. And I must say I’m sorely tempted to use the rolly eyes one.
Perhaps they should sue their own film industry for making the film Central Station. Any adversion I have to Brazil from the Simpsons is dwarfed by that from that movie. shudder
Just for the record, one of my grad school advisors was robbed on a streetcar in Brazil, and injured as a result, resulting in a long stay in a Rio hospital.
Yeah but Rupert Murdoch’s originally from Australia so The Simpsons have a contributory negligence defense.
Well, I’m Brazilian and I have to say I laughed my ass off watching that episode (just like I do with most Simpsons’ episodes). Tele-boobies? That was so funny!! The Simpsons is a show based on mockery. They made fun of my country in one episode. So what? They make fun of America in every episode. I don’t know… I just love the show. They could mock me and I would still think it’s funny.
People have to learn that shows like The Simpsons, South Park, Saturday Night Live are not to be taken seriously. It’s comedy, after all!!!
I found a sig! Woo-hoo!
Since this thread has been brought back from the dead, I find it only fair to point out that Rio and the Simpsons are once again on speaking terms. James Brooks apologized, saying that if there are any problems, Homer can fight the mayor of Rio on Celebrity Boxing.
