So why did they give up on the original salad bar, anyway? And why not bring it back now?
I suppose it wasn’t profitable back in the late 70’s. But now, with all the concern about diabetes and obesity , Wendy’s could use their salad bar to advertise that they are the only healthy fast-food chain.

They have a really good line of Salads and side salads now that are actually popular. Salad Bars can be a pain to maintain. I speak from a little experience as a 17 year old in 1983 & 84.
