My oldest niece is an excellent cook. She makes great from scratch homemade meals, cakes, pies, cookies etc. Her six year old daughter brought home a worksheet she did at school about mothers. On it, there was a space that says, “My mother makes the best…”. She said ramen noodles. I have giggled about this way more than I should.
red I agree the mojo poke is good but I had me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for fried chikin today.
Wow - rescues around here all seem to be under $200, tho I’ve never looked into breed-specific rescues.
I just finished crocheting another hat. We had ice cream and strawberries - ‘twas yum! We’re watching the Nats kick the Pirates’ collective asses - 5-1 in the top of the 5th.
It’s supposed to be in the 90s tomorrow. rah. Stoopit weather…
It’s not so much that it’s a bug, it’s the fact that **A TICK **is a nasty little disease vector with no redeeming value.
Got a letter from the student loan people today so I’m going to have to call them to ask what the hell. I had to do this last month too. At least I’m not going to be the only one having a bad day tomorrow. Big Fat Durwood Cat is going to go to The Vet to get his teeth cleaned and hopefully find out why he’s decided the floor is the best place to deposit his stinkbombs.
Did some more window (house) research, may also replace the doors while I’m at it. After nappage, coached girls’ soccer (only 7 at practice, a lot of kids are at Space Camp this week) so we combined with parts fo two boys teams and scrimmaged for 40 minutes. Girls more than held their own.
Came home for mac-n-cheese and now am contemplating bed.
I adulted well today. I got the Sportie inspected and it is now totally legal for MORE than a year ---- it really wasn’t up until July and PA allows you to go up to three months early. I had a good lunch/dinner at the dive place the OW and I like. I gathered rubbish and cleaned a few things around the house. Started a gathering of things to donate to the Thrift Shop. I worked and was nice and trained several people on TDR. I had salad for second dinner/supper. Now its time to go soak my head and consider sleep.
We were officially detonated yesterday afternoon, it was all over the national news this morning with video and everything! That’s the most excitement there’s been around here for ages. No doubt my mum would have seen it today on the news, she’ll be annoyed I didn’t tell her about it yesterday when I called her, but she would have started off telling me about how I need to stay away from that area…totally missing the fact that it’s right over the opposite side of the city to anywhere I’m travelling. As far as she’s concerned, anything that mentions “Birmingham” is right on my doorstep, apart from the cricket at Edgbaston, which is on my doorstep. The fact that I live about 15 miles away from Birmingham also doesn’t feature in her head.
Clearly nothing else of importance is happening here, we’re having some election in a few weeks so now the news programmes are all focused on who we should be voting for. I’ll vote for the party that doesn’t shove anything through my door because their election gubbins doesn’t get read, it goes straight in the recycling bin.
Summer hits today, if the weatherfolk are to be believed. I left the house open - wonder if I’ll have to close it up and turn on the A/C when I get home? We shall see.
Josh is supposed to be teaching me something new and <koff koff> exciting today - having to do with promoting drawings or something so that the stuff can be manufactured. Apparently I have to do it because his name was down as the person who checked the drawing, and the checker can’t promote. Or something. I don’t know. I just wanna draft. Stoopit Josh.
I’ve also got to contact the local Hyundai dealer about the recall on our Sonata. Last night, **FCD **was cut off twice when he called their service dept, and when I tried to do their on-line scheduling, I couldn’t get the damned page to load. Not impressed at all! Worst case scenario, I take a slightly alternate route home and show up at the dealer in person to schedule.
Other than that, just another day in Paradise. Happy Wednesday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 93 and N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall hit a couple of grocery sto’s for some specials and spend some quality time at the cee-mint pond this afternoon. OYKW returns probably late this afternoon. YAY! Pot roast for dindin which shall be good.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I shall purtify so as to be presentable to the public.
Up, caffienating, gearing up to waste my morning on the phone with the student loan people. Big Fat Durwood Cat will be going to the vet to get his toof fixed soon. Poor kitty.
Slept all the way to 6am today, will try to skip the afternoon nap so I can get a regular sleep pattern going again. Supposed to be near 90F all week so indoor (in)activity is likely.
'tis 47 with a predict high of 61. Cloudy with a chance of rain. I am mid-school chivvy. Shortly I will shove 'Beamer on his bus then nag 'Beamette until she is on her way. I must remember to put this on the list of things that aren’t mentioned when the baby is so little and cute.
I may spend the day being a vegetable. I can confirm that last night I ate an actual meal and the world has not ended. First time in 2 weeks. Not sure I feel brave enough to do it again, but it was exciting.
Got the loan thing straightened out and made my next month’s payment early. The loan people really need to figure out a way to make their letters make sense. Every piece of mail I get from them is terrifying and unexplained.
Metal Mouse, that story was on the local news last night. They were giving dire warnings about the dangers of energy drinks.
In other “it’s considered local because it’s a bordering state” news, there’s a Waffle House in Cookeville, TN that has really fresh steaks.
