That was the goldfish.
What are you talking about? This is still page 1!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out, humid and cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and cloudy with maybe rain comin’ in a little later. Right now nuttin’ is showin’ on the radar but TWPTB say later this mornin’. Mowage is supposed to take place at the church house beginnin’ at nine this mornin’. We shall see what happens I suppose. No other plans for the day which is fine by me.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. I suppose I should make myself a bit presentable to be seen out and about as well.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I was able to more or less sleep in till 6:30. Critters are fed, cat box has been scooped, and I’m caffeinating. In a stroke of inspiration I realized that the mate to the cinnamon sugar shaker that I bought will be perfect for my rotisserie/smoker rub - better than the little plastic container I keep it in now. And since I need to mix up a new batch, it’s the perfect time to change containers. Simple pleasures, you know…
**BigKitty *- I had to quit growing 'maters in pots on the back deck because of the @#$(@%#& squirrel that would pluck them off, then leave the half-eaten 'mater carcasses all over the deck. I just buy from the local Amish and the damned squirrel can fend for himself!
Can’t be half asleep and runnin’ down co-parishoners with a ridin’ mower now can I?
I can see the movie trailer now:
In a world where no good deed goes unpunished, the generous, good-spirited folks of St. Patrick’s soon learned a simple morning of landscaping the church grounds was about to turn into a bloodfest!!! This summer, grab your weed whacker and prepare to defend yourself against Bear on a Deere!!! In 3-D and IMAX where available. This film is rated AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!
Caffeinating and surfing till **FCD **decides to get up. It’s wonderfully cool out and we’re going to be working in the shed today - gotta re-run some wires and cut some panels to go on the ceiling. Good times!
Happy Saturday!
I decided to google “bear on a Deere” to see what came up. This came up. (Safe picture.)
I, too, rolled out of bed at 6:30, but mine was a more panicky roll because I heard a tree breaking in the back yard. I ran outside and the big tree that’s leaning is still leaning, although now it’s on a different tree. The one it was leaning on is now a broken-off stump. The rest of the tree was in the road. I immediately woke up Irish Storyteller and Seasonal. That’s when the story gets good.
Our next-door-neighbor on that side is a tree guy and he had already gotten the trunk out of the road and was cleaning up the debris. So we all went back in the house and bemoaned ourweak trees.
I fell asleep on the couch. then woke up, and took a nap on the bed. Now I’m up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I need to clean the bathroom today. And watch hockey. And make beef stew in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. And pace myself, since I have four days off in a row.
plot twist: the rampage is caused by the presence of [Joan Crawford]WIIRRREEE HANNNGGGEEERRRS[/Joan Crawford] in the church coat room.
You know what you get when you cross a bear with a deer? Stay thirsty my friends.
It twas raining this morning. There’s a yellow puddle across the street. Stoopit pollen!
I’ve got the ribs loaded in the smoker. They should be done in about 6 hours or so. Yum!
Just waiting for **FCD **to want to work in his shed.
Happy Saturday!
I slept in until 10am.
It’s a cloudy 63 degrees outside according to my phone app. I haven’t stuck my head outside the door yet. The AC is running, so I should check and turn it off if it’s cool outside.
Today will be a busy day. I have a few more things to pack up for the trip to the armpit tomorrow. I have a bunch of books I want to drop off at my friend’s house, along with all the scented laundry stuff that has accumulated, and all the dog food and treats. She also wants any and all cardboard boxes I have. Her basement gets water in it and she likes to use cardboard to sop it up. I have some scented kitty litter to give her, and probably the canned cat food as well - since Adam won’t eat it.
I still want to get a puppy. I cannot believe I want a puppy.
They are so much work and a pita.
I need to eat some breakfast, although now it’s time for lunch.
LOL - FCM
Howdy Y’all! Home from mowage of the back forty, showered and et a sammich. In a little bit OYKW and I are goin’ up to the nursin’ home in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja to visit JDD’s ‘rents. After that, we’re thinkin’ early dindin at Golden Corral just cause. Hence I just et a small sammich to tied me over cause I was hungry.
MOOOOOOM to be factual it was bear on a toro.
Fine:* Bear on a Bull*
Smokage continues. **FCD **doesn’t feel up to working in the shed - his knees are really bothering him.
beardeersin(theta)
Trash and recycling have been dispatched. We stopped at the little market in Chaptico for a quickie little lunch. **FCD **got their fried chickie, which he say is about the best he’s ever had. I tried their beef stew - it’s meh.
Smokeage continues - about 2 hours or so to go, I think.
Laundry is almost done. As soon as this dryer load stops I can put the last one in.
I don’t know why my dryer takes twice as long as the washer, but it does.
One day I am going to buy a spin dryer, it’s on the list. Even better, get a clothes line.
I had chicken stuffed with broccoli and cheese for lunch.
Now I’m irking. I’d rather be doing something else, but I need to make money.
I think I forgot to post yesterday that my bonus colonoscopy got cancelled yesterday AFTER I had done all of the prep. It turns out that I have C. Diff, which is some nasty bacterial infection. Now I am taking anti-biotics and we’ll see how it goes.
Other than that, today I am working with 'Beamer to get all of his school work organized (he has a lot that’s done but not turned in) and sitting around.
Last night we saw “Guardians of the Galaxy”. I actually liked it better than the first one, which I was kinda “meh” about.
Sari puppies are work, but it doesn’t last that long. They grow pretty fast.
It’s 62 and cloudy, with a predicted high of 71. I thought it was supposed to get into the 80s today, but I guess the clouds showed up. Tomorrow maybe.
Happy Sattiday all.
We visited the folks in Dawson then went to GC for a late N.O.L./very early dindin. We got into some rainstorms on the way back, but except for a little rain, nuttin’ at da cave as of yet but looks like 'tis on the way. Anywho, food has been ingested so that’s a good thing.
Smokeage is done. I’ve wrapped 3 of the slabs and when they cool a bit more, I’ll vacuum-seal them and pop them into the freezer. The 4th slab is standing by for supper.
It’s been a good day - sunny, cool, a bit of a breeze. I need to do laundry - maybe I’ll run a few loads tonight. Or not.
We still await the rain. Also we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. I’s tahrd!
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Close ---- it’s always Day One.
At least in Da Jungle.
Speaking of which I now need to go to bed earlier than planned since I’m doing an extra tomorrow morning. Its one of the reasons I never went further than ROTC ----- I volunteer too easily.
My family had a birthday party for my mother, and also my brother in law, but mainly my mom. It was the the physical rehab center where mom is now. She keeps getting a little better each day, and if all goes well will be home in a couple of weeks.
There was home made ice cream, chocolate cake, and a pineapple upside down cake. If I counted correctly there were fifteen people present. My cousin and her husband Ken drove all the way from Nebraska to be here. My mom is my cousin’s oldest living relative now(her mother was my dad’s oldest sister)
A good time was had by all, especially because Mom seems to keep improving. She even saw her house yesterday, as my sister and a PT specialist took her there to inspect the house for her return. A couple of safety features will be added on the porch and in the bathroom, and mom must stay on the ground floor for a while at least, while we visit each day for a checkup.
