So you don’t have to follow the link, technically the bullet he fired killed him, but he had already been shot by the officers, so he wasn’t going anywhere even assuming he wouldn’t have been killed by one a few seconds later. So this isn’t like the case of the killer who finished his work and then killed himself. He got stopped.
Yes he did, and regardless of who fired the fatal shot, it was a courageous act by those detectives to take on an unknown rifle-armed assailant with sidearms.
I went to our festival today (and survived.) Less obvious police presence than previous years. I suspect they were observing and not being conspicuous.
