Brett Favre go away!

That’s kind of lame. You’ve got some private lying during a drug problem and a blogger speculating on interviews?

In any case, there isn’t any question about the bribe. The team has basically admitted it.

I don’t see any citation on your part, Dio. Perhaps you could provide cites to back up your claims? :dubious:

And to assert that the Packers would have been nothing without Favre is ludicrous. A far better assertion is that Mike Holmgren made them what they were when he was there; Favre’s results were much worse once Holmgren left, and Seattle’s have significantly improved. Favre is a good quarterback, but he isn’t the be-all, end-all of what the Packers have done.

And it will be fun to watch you eat all these words in January.

Yeah, what DSY said: you start poking at my citations when you’ve provided some of your own.

Won’t take that long. If Adrian Peterson makes it to Week 5, I’ll be stunned (though pleased, because he is fun to watch).

What do you want a cite for?

Here’s a fun timeline of the Brett saga: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=779414

Keep in mind that in the week before he announced he wanted to come back, he denied that he wanted to come back, saying it was “all rumor.”

I don’t hate they guy, and wish him well in NY. I just don’t think him leaving is the end of life, the universe, and everything. He was a great QB, but even the greatest QBs need help to win. If he’s as good as his fans think, the Jets should be playing in the AFC championship, at least.

You guys are missing the absolutely most important and relevant piece of information…Brett is on the cover of Madden '09!!

Case closed.

Yeah, but he’s in a Packer uni, so the curse doesn’t count.

Of course he is. John Madden demanded that thousands of photographs would be taken of Brett, even in the nude, so that John could personally choose the perfect one to put on the cover.

The picture’s chosen and mysteriously all the proofs are missing. John claims to know nothing, but we know better. Don’t we.

Back in 1991, the Jets worked like mad to move up in the draft and take Favre. But Atlanta snagged him juuuuust before the Jets’ pick, leaving New York to select the useless Browning Nagle.

Better late than never, I guess.

They’ll update that soon and release a new cover online. CNN carried that story, by the way - and the local news managed to talk about Favre not only as a story on his own, but they worked him into a story about the Summer Streets program and I think in the weather forecast. :smack:
