Britany at the VMA's......
It may have been crass, but I so want a screen cap of Silverman doing the Brit vertical smile

Ask and ye shall receive.

ETA: It’s not a screen cap, but it’s a photo, anyway.

I Tivo’d the whole 2 hour 10 minute show so I could watch it later and skip over the crap.
I literally watched the entire show in less than 10 minutes.

I did the same thing. I think most of that was Chris Brown’s performance.

It’s nice to finally see an entertainer taking his job seriously.

I also thought it was adorable and sweet that when Timberlake won an award, he got up and spent the entire speech talking about how awesome Chris Brown is.

“Sarah Silverman proved she can make her face as funny as her stand-up routines.”

Not very?
I take it Britney is managing her own career at this point?
Yes, I believe I read that she has no manager or PR person at this time.
Silverman was NOT funny. In fact, I was so uncomfortable I wanted to leave to go run to the store, but my friends wanted to stay to see what else she was going to say. For those of you that haven’t seen it, she said that Britney’s kids are the most adorable little mistakes she’s ever seen and that they are as cute as the hairless vagina they came out of (she proceeds to make a face that is supposed to look like an ugly vagina). That’s just. . . disgusting. Make fun of Britney all you want (she said something like: think, just 5 years ago she was a young girl he writhing around in no clothes-- wow, who would have known she had already achieved all she was going to achieve in life), but blasting someone’s babies like that? Not cool. I can see why Britney flipped.
I haven’t watched it (and don’t plan to), but what you’ve described there sounds more like blasting Britney than her kids. I don’t see the problem. And even if she did blast the kids, it’s not like they’re going to understand it. Not an issue, AFAIC.

Britany Spears on stage looking like a drunk chick at a frat party lip synching along to a Britany Spears song?
:dubious: We had better strippers than that at my fraternity.

Would you feel the same way if it were *your * kids?

Kids are off limits, AFAIC. Making fun of children is just plain old bad form.

I couldn’t watch the whole Britney thing or the whole Sarah thing. On Britney, I thought that was the worst possible place to clip her microphone transmitter. Boots, bra, crotch, hair, anywhere but her butt crack!

It was weird hearing Silverman refer to the younger Britney as “innocent.” Tell me, guys, did you ever watch young Britney bumping and grinding, and think “innocent”?
MTV having a Video Music Award ceremony is just stupid anyway, they don’t show videos anymore.

Anybody hear of MTV2 ?

Yep, I would, if that’s all she said about them. Of course, my kids are 13 and 17, so I doubt they’d much care. But even if they were younger - like I said, it sounds more like she was making fun of Britney. I didn’t read anything in that that made it sound as if she was mocking the kids. Maybe you could make it clear to me.

I didn’t even watch the show but from what I’ve determined vicariously, Silverman said they essentially were as cute as shaved vulva, didn’t she?

I feel like I missed out on this year’s JFK moment. :frowning:

Oh, you mean the channel who’s line up consists of Andy Milonokis, Adventures of Chico & Guapo, Celebrity Deathmatch, Crank Yankers, Team Sanchez, Wild Boyz, Wonder Showzen, etc. etc.?

I actually will be the lone dissenter and say that I really enjoyed Sarah Silverman–I think she’s really funny in general, though. I’m a sucker for cuteness paired with vulgarity, though. Technically, calling her kids the cutest little mistakes ever seems slightly more offensive. Still funny, though.

Haven’t seen the Britney performance…must make mental note to do so soon.

She called the kids “mistakes”. Which is the one thing that grated my nerves.

As far as Britney is concerned, to me she looked like someone who had completely lost her confidence. I’ve seen fighters do this many times. They look like they’ve gone into shock.

I think Silverman was referencing the tabloid reports that Britney called her own kids “mistakes”. So don’t get mad at Sarah, get mad at Spears.

I only saw what the news programs showed, and she was hardly moving! I mean, she could have phoned it in. That said, I think she’s very troubled and should really just retire and try to get her shit together. I feel very sorry for her.

Personally, I wouldn’t have cared if Silverman called the Spears brood “malignant little ass-toads” if she was funny while doing it. She was just spectacularly unfunny.

I’m not even that impressed with the rehearsal footage and I’m certainly not buy the cancelling Cris Angel thing threw her off. The timid dancing from Sunday’s show was part of that rehearsal clip so she should’ve been able to nail it regardless of them dropping Cris Angel.
