Broomstick - Does His Ass Say rebeW or Not?

Navy beans, the most common type of beans as used in baked beans, etc. are legumes.

She did however say she ate lentils here - “I ate beans and lentils, too”. Note the posts are separated by seven years and in the first she was describing past events, so plausible deniability exists on that one ( i.e. the allergy developed later ). Still - it does look hinky.

Right.

So, she says she’s deathly allergic to these foods, but has posted several times that she eats the fuck out of them.

Liar.
If I say I’m allergic to most grains (as in a quick trip to the ER or I’ll die) allergic, then find out I’m only moderately allergic to oat and maaaaybe barely, wouldn’t you call that a lie more than an exaggeration?
Yeah, maybe. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending her. I think half the stories she tells, well, let’s just say I don’t believe they happened the way she tells them. But on the other hand, there’s nothing I can point to that’s a clear lie, like saying she eats beans in one post, and says she’s deathly allergic to them in another post. It’s all just embellishment and exaggeration.

Fair enough and I hear ya.

But I think at this point there’s enough circumstantial evidence as well out out and out inconsistencies in her posts that we can just say she has a real pathological problem with lying/exaggerating.

I’d warn anyone here who’s not familiar with her history to take her posts with the biggest grain of salt you can.

One post:

Another post (thread title, what are you allergic to):

http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=12413507&postcount=13

She can’t have it both ways.

Yes, Tamerlane pointed that out upthread, but also acknowledged that those posts were years apart and she was talking about the past in the old one…so who knows when the lentil allergy was discovered? Legume allergies often develop later in life. So still, to me there’s enough plausible deniability/room for explanation of the inconsistencies that you can’t really make accusations of lying. But as cmyk says, large grains of salt are recommended.

Peanut allergies only affect .6% of U.S. adults.

Lentil allergies are even less common.

I doubt that our Broomstick is THAT special.

Maybe she just really likes going to the ER.

What is it, moderately or barely? Your life is at stake!

So, apparently this person is a compulsive liar with a persecution complex. What are the theories on the underlying mental disorder?

Chronic Republicanitis?

[sub]…and the cheap pandering shot is going… going… going…[/sub]

Which, no matter how you look at it, is deliberately misrepresenting facts.

I can’t state with certainty that it’s deliberate.

FWIW, I don’t think she’s colorblind either. I’ll find the exchange I had with her about it later, but it came across as utter bullshit.

But, she insists, so…

But, but… I always manage to keep my computer running and my internet hooked up so I can post on message boards. Beats having toilet paper or food on the table any day.

rebeW, rebeW, your ass is a mess…
Hot grill, I love you so.

sorry if this has been done already…

Yeah, as I think I mentioned earlier in this thread, my biggest issue with her exaggerations is that they are meant to raise awareness of important social issues, but they have the unfortunate tendency to have the opposite effect of what she wants…they make people less sympathetic and less prone to believe the trials of people who live in poverty, or the problem of sexual harassment, etc.

If it’s not deliberate, what are you suggesting? That she’s delusional?

What problem? She’ll just break your femur if you try to hit on her and suggest she leave her gimp husband.
