Broomstick - Does His Ass Say rebeW or Not?

Tailgating? Or should I say, tailgrilling?

When I want to grill some tail…

I too have a brand just above my ass. It says Levi, and that’s a fine ass brand if you asked me.

Yep. They’re all heckuva good stories.

Don’t forget - the story is that he sat on it long enough for it to burn away his clothing and then brand “rebeW” into the skin. I’m not sure the portable grill can pull all that off. It has to get super hot and be moderately difficult to get off of.

Can everybody lie like a motherfucker, or just the pleasant people?

Well, if you only have the use of one hand/arm to help you get up, that might just account for the burn.

Maybe, but the use of only one arm makes it less likely the that shovel and crossbow incidents actually happened as she described.

She can’t seem to keep her stories straight, which is common when it comes to serial fibbers.

Pitting Boomstick?

What are you, Evil Ash?

Broomstick has a persecution complex that causes her to imagine scenarios in everyday life that do not actually happen. She then lectures everyone about how they should behave and relates these imaginary tales as experiences she has encountered. Or she relates stories of the experiences of her her “acquaintances” (read–other liars on other message boards) as honest to goodness fact if they get her some attention or further her lecturing narrative. No tale is too tall for our poor, put upon, yet still strong heroine forging on against all odds. It gets tiresome.

A burn, maybe. A brand? No.

“Jibe” and “jive” have been used interchangeably in the U.S. to indicate the concept “to agree or accord.”

I think the language is changing on this one

Lying like a motherfucker is fine, calling out the lie will get you warned for being a jerk.

Sorta yeah, but sorta no. A completely pointless fib is one thing – “Hey, I won ten dollars in a scratch-off lottery ticket once” – but garish, memorable, extravagant anecdotes are kinda taboo, especially on a board that has, as a secondary goal, the exposure of Urban Legends as hooey. Broomstick’s tall tales are too much “Paul Bunyan” and too little “everyday.”

“My sister was bitten by a moose”…rather than just, “my sister was clawed by her cat.”

(My sister was bitten on the breast by a horse. The bruise it left was quite astonishing!)

I swear it used to be that you COULD actually do so, as long as you didn’t call the person a liar, – you know, the whole, “attack the post, not the poster?” Like, “that’s totally NOT true”, or “that’s a lie”. Am I going nuts, or was this actually the case at one point?

Both

.

Well, I guess depending on the level of rules lawyering that I want to get into, I never explicitly called her a liar. But the reality is that calling her a liar is exactly what I intended to convey. My phrasing falling juuuust within the line technically was unintentional and up for debate. The funniest thing for me is that she clearly reported my posts and had about 1 minute of feeling vindicated when I was warned , then got uppity and posted to the dead rebeW thread and earned her own pit thread. And a mod note. Warms the heart, it does:)

I think the Weber folks are missing a fantastic viral marketing opportunity here. They should have their logo on the grill backwards. That way, when you sit on it (or sear a steak) the logo will be the right way 'round, proudly displaying the Weber name and increasing brand awareness. It’s the sort of publicity money just can’t buy.[sup]*[/sup]

  • At least, I really hope not.

I can see the lawsuits now

“When Weber encouraged me to sit on the hot grill to brand myself with their logo, I assumed they would only do so if it was safe. Actually I got burned!

No real dog but I would like to fight a little ignorance here. From what little I’ve read of Broomstick’s posts, there is nothing pleasant about her embellishments. They are snarky and tend to be mean spirited - the rebeW story being a bit of an exception.

And second, if when called out she admitted to a bit of hyperbole no one would notice but she does the opposite and doubles down. See a Brickers posts early in this thread.
