With him its hard to say. He really isn’t all that aware after all.
I’m sorry; we asked the Governor and he said no.
Wow am I ever in a snarky mood today. The warm spell must be to blame. Global warming, radiation and all that stuff.

Happy Saturday!
It’s 32 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 39. Then the heat wave starts, with temps in the 50s.
I’m thinking about ordering a pizza today, but it’s still kind of a mess out there.
No excitement last night, or at least nothing loud enough to get my attention.
No starting taxes for me, I haven’t gotten anything yet and I’m not sure how much my 1099 will be. The last pay of 2015 was on Dec 31, so probably will be included, but the pay date was for Jan 1. I’m confused by the college grant form, because the amount spent is greater than the grant amount, but I think that is because his classes were paid for in December but the actual grant money hasn’t come yet. I still need my mortgage statement and the health care one.
My brain isn’t ready for this. I’ll wait until I have everything and go from there.
The FAFSA stuff has to be done too, another headache.
I have chicken in the oven, can’t wait until it’s done because I’m hungry.
Happy Birthday Airman!
Ruble - lately I have taken snark to a whole new level. It’s been hard holding it all in but somehow I am managing - or I doubt I’d have a non internet friend left. Except for Friend 1 - she laughs at my snark.
This is news?
:dubious:
Taxes are done. A little back from the state, a little more going to the feds. It’s definitely worth it to pay for the on-line tax prep software. I use TaxAct so it’s about $30 for fed and state, but it walks me thru the process and I don’t worry about forgetting anything. Anyway, that’s done, so yay.
I’ve got some of the formerly frozen beef-n-broth simmering on the stove with some canned 'maters. Eventually, I’ll add onions, celery, carrots, and N.O.T.s. Guess what’s for supper!! I’ll remember to go easy on the thyme this time.
Guess I should dig out my resume and buff it up a bit.
Went and had my hair colored. Had to go a shade darker cause my grey are more like silver and are getting harder to cover. One of these days I shall relent and be silver haired but not yet.
The annual snowbird invasion is in full swing. The traffic was so bad I decided to forgo the stop at the grocery store. I will just scrounge instead.
I feel a nap coming on now.
Howdy Y’all! Home from funeralizin’. It was the Funeral Rite sans Holy Communion so it was short by Whiskypalian standards.
I made up some burgers to grill for dindin but both of us are still pretty full from N.O.L. I think Moanday shall be burger time and tonight will be sammiches. OYKW wants <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> for N.O.L. tomorrow which ususally fills us up as well.
I wish I could say that, but I still haven’t received my piece of paper from the student loan people. I have everything else, including my W-2 finally. They waited until the last minute to send those out.
You seem to be attending many of those. That is sad.
Stew was good, and there’s a big container left over - at least a couple of lunches for next week.
Tonight shall be sheer laziness. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
I got my 1099 today, I have no idea how they came up with that total. It’s close enough though. Still waiting for the mortgage stuff and the college stuff. I can go online and look up the college stuff but I don’t understand it so I’ll wait for the paper copy. I could probably look at my last mortgage statement for the mortgage info.
Maybe I will start my taxes.
Maybe when my brain is better and I don’t have such a bad case of the grumpies.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaay to many as of late. Notice that my death pool entries continue to thrive whilst those all around me seem to drop like flies.
butters, when my white hair became too much of a hassle to cover, I went blonde. Better camo!
Groceries are bought, errands run and, somehow or another, I had a chain event of cleaning the kitchen today.
It began with spillage in the fridge, led to removing all shelves and drawers from said appliance and scrubbing. Then, when I was wiping up the water that got a little out of place, I began cleaning out the spice rack behind it. While I was playing with the spices, I took the opportunity to do refills from the pantry cabinet, which got cleaned too. All that was left was to change the towels and rugs, sweep and mop. I like my nice, clean kitchen.
Blurf twice.
Up early, then refereed two indoor soccer games, grabbed a sammich at IHOP and then came home and took a 3-hour nap, from which I have been awake from for about an hour. In other words, not a productive day.
Did get my last piece of tax info, and since I cashed in a large amount from my mutual funds this year to buy a retirement annuity, I suspect that I’ll owe a honking big payment this year. Need to get the best software I can or have it done my someone, to see what I can save, and not submit it until as close to 15 April as I can.
I should be going out and doing my grocery shopping, but need to work up the ambition…which never got started in me today, anyway.
Maybe Sunday.
I thought DOING taxes caused the grumpies.
Still waiting for various 1099’s here.
I know I sound sorry for myself, but there was just read, in today’s paper, that the grocery store I shop at is closing. It’s just about the only grocery right in the middle of town.
Not that there aren’t plenty of other grocery stores in the city, even several of the same chain. But this one is closest to me, and right on my way home from work. It’s not as big as the newer stores but it’s right where a lot of people can shop by walking.
It’s going to leave a big hole in the neighborhood. I have a car, I can go elsewhere but not everyone can and it will be a hardship on them.
I know nothing stays the same forever, but I’m still bummed.
On another note, I continue with straightening my place, throwing out and organizing. Next on the list is my VHS tapes. Yes, you heard right, I still have a VCR set up. But I almost never use it, and I now have DVD’s of a number of favorite shows and movies. These tapes take up a lot more space so I’m going to take the plunge and start throwing them out. The only exceptions will be a few I don’t think I can get easily on DVD. And one of my brothers in law has a machine that can burn them onto DVD. One example is the pilot episode of Babylon 5. I have it recorded twice actually, and the two versions are very slightly different. There are slight changes in editing, and the soundtracks are quite different. But not too much beyond that, maybe just a couple of shows I taped off of TV.
Time for supper I guess.
Smokey and I have a new game. Her goal is to knock over my iced tea bottle. My goal is to keep it upright.
I think it’s time to crawl under the covers. MWAH!
CupCakes ( I think Baker needs a Mumper nickname), I know how sad it is to see a favorite ‘hood store close. I don’t do a whole lot of shoppin’ at the Burly Butcher Sto’, but I do like that it is half a mile from da cave. When I lived in Ye Olde Hometowne, there was a nice but smallish grocery sto’ a block from my apartment. I grieved when it closed cause I really liked to shop there.
rosie has Smokey won yet?
I am about to join OYKW in the boudoir. I feel sleepy time comin’ on.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
I know how you feel.
It’s a draw, but I suspect round two will commence sometime tomorrow.
