Brrrrrrrrrr in the MMP

I am having trouble getting rid of the grumpies, the taxes will only make them worse.

Home from a long day, slightly sore, slightly tired. But that much OT will buy a lot of coffee and beer to fix those problems.

Do pay attention ,sir.

Happy Birthday Airman!!!

sari, I need to do my taxes, too. Luckily I have a simple return.

rosie, I once cohabitated with a cat who would jump up on the arm of my easy chair, swish his tail and, if there was a beverage on the end table, knock it over, usually soaking the teevee remote. After about the third remote, I bought one of those as-seen-on-TV pockets to Velcro on the other side of the chair to hold it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey y’all.

Wassup?

DUDE!

: tacklehug :

Up too early, can’t sleep.

**sari **- you and me both! My bladder stated pestering me a bit after 4, and after much tossing and turning, I decided I needed to let my sweetie get sleep in peace. So I’ve fed the dog and I just finished off the last of my birthday cake. Can’t believe it lasted a week!!

My resume is looking pretty decent, but my cover letter sucks. That’s the problem with a 37-year gumming career - I never needed to bother with those silly things. Job applications were straightforward and, eventually, on line. Come to think of it, so were my last 2 drafting job applications… I’ll get **FCD **to help me - he was always looking for something better and as I dug thru the computer memory, I found a bunch of his cover letters. None will serve as a guide for mine, but I know he’s better at it than I am.

I forgot to share this little tidbit yesterday: when I was waiting for my haircut, I perused the shelves of overpriced hair care products for sale and saw one shampoo/conditioner combo labeled “Gluten Free.” I’m trying to decide if it’s marketing genius or sheer idiocy. Or should I check to make sure my underwear is gluten free??? What to do, what to do…

**FCD **said when he does his next engineering design review, he plans to add a slide about it being gluten-free.

So, today will involve laundry, giving **FCD **a haircut, and beating the cover letter into submission. Probably other stuff, too. We’re all spontaneous like that.

Happy Sunday!!

PS - Hey there, CatDude!!! About time you came back!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Only an 11 hour day today.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 71 and partly cloudy for the day. We have a warmin’ trend to start the week, then rain, then a cool down at the end of the week. Weather be weird.

Howdy CatDude! Come back and play.

I haven’t gotten any tax stuff yet. I’m not worried cause my taxes will be easy to do, but I’d like to get 'em done.

Today’s plans include deheathenization where I shall read the first lesson, a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. and then, not much else.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. At some point we both must commence purtification for deheathenization.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

CATMAN!!!

::tacklehug::

Well, as I mentioned above, never did get the grocery shopping done Saturday, so when I woke up this morning, I decided it would be the first thing I did this day.

The supermarket is pretty quiet at 7:00am, except for the workers stocking shelves. Actually got everything on my list in one stop, which doesn’t always happen to me.

CupCakes, I have a Publix, a Kroger and a Wal-Mart within 5 miles of me, but nothing I would call a ‘neighborhood’ store, one that I could walk to. Sorry to see something like that go.

Got 4 indoor soccer games to referee (7-8 year old) from 2-6PM, so I think I’ll take it easy until then. Have a good run going on 2-suit spider solitare, over 30% wins, so I’ll see if I can keep improving.

Sunday morning here. Enjoying the slow start to the day. I am getting a manicure, then going to the grocery store. Then back home. Then Downton Abbey tonight! YAY!

baker, I have a :eek:Wally World , a Kroger, a Publix, an Aldi and Al’s Foodland all within five miles of my apartment. Al’s is the only one that’s more like a neighborhood market, but, alas, unless I get in better shape and purchase a cart, it’s not within walking distance.

Wally World is though, if I cut through the woods. :frowning:

Nothing firmly on the agenda for today but doing some design work in the studio and getting breakfasts/lunches ready for irk this week.

I would say welcome back stranger but in this crowd it's pretty tough to be any stranger!

Big Red Letter day here ---- we are going to see Blazing Saddles on the big screen. Part of this odd series of old (and I so hate that it qualifies as “old”) movies being shown in theaters. WOOHOO!!!

Happy Sunday!

I fell back asleep, and sometime while I was sleeping the power went out. It’s on now but I had some problems reconnecting to wi-fi.

It’s a sunny 45 degrees outside, and supposed to get up to 52!
Bye-bye snow!

I’ve been wanting to order pizza but when I look outside I know it’s still difficult to get around out there. Some neighbors didn’t shovel their sidewalks, so people have to walk in the street and there aren’t very many paths from the street to the sidewalk.

Breakfast is in the microwave. Mostly irk today.

Higgs and I assumed the position on the recliner and snoozed a bit till **FCD **got up and started the shower - that got Higgs’ attention. We had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and I filled the car at $1.719! I’ve got the first load in the washer and **FCD **is making a run to the convenience center - may as well get rid of the garbage and recycling before he’s surgicalized.

At breakfast, we discussed the cover letter - I think I know how to approach it. Other than that, just laundry day here. Between the warmth and the rain stretching out thru Weds, a lot of our snow should be gone. Theoretically. We shall see.

BLURF. It’s housecleaning day here. I am taking a short break before commencing to vacuum and hubs will mop. Place is/was a mess. My housekeeper now has a grand baby to tend to and had dental surgery so she has been out of commission.

Tis a little cloudy and dreary here today. No plans when we finish cleaning except sloth. Off now to take another sinus pill. I swear I have had the worst time ever with allergies this winter.

Sitting here surfing the Dope listening to the plumber curse the cast iron water pipes he’s trying to replace in my kitchen right now.

Oh yeah, so worth whatever I’m gonna pay him when it’s done…

It’s drip drip dripping outside.

Good bye snow.

Up. Coffee made. Bagel ingested.

Trying my new strategy of “no work Sunday”. I often get bad migraines on Monday. Since I usually cram so much stuff into the weekend, there’s a theory that the Monday migraines happen as result of all of the stress I put myself under. So today shall be reading, relaxing, perhaps a movie. The only problem is that I’m not very good at sitting still and relaxing.

Daughter got a pixie cut yesterday. She looks very cute, but the bangs keep falling into her face.

Happy Sunday!
