Brrrrrrrrrr in the MMP

Howdy Y’all! ‘Tis been a kinda sucky day. On our way to the church house, twuck decided to blow a tire. Got the tire off and the donut on but by then it was a little after ten o’clock and I was filthy, bein’ as I cannot do anything without turnin’ into PigPen. So I called the church and let ‘em know I was not goin’ to make it in time. Good ol’ Tim took my place as Lector so I owe him. Came back to da cave and I told OYKW he could go if he wanted as he was not filthy and would have time to make it for Holy Eucharist. He decided not to, as he does not like to go without me. So I got cleanded up. In the meantime he say where Sonny’s had all you can eat smoked chikin. YUM! So we went to Sonny’s and pigged out, which was the bright spot in all the suckitude. Afterwards, we came back to da cave and I priced tires at local places. :eek:Wally*World:eek: had the best price so I went to check it out. They do have plenty of the desired tire in stock, the sales guy even went to physically check instead of just relyin’ on what the computer says is in inventory and confirmed the fact. However, it would have been a three to four hour wait today. No Thanks. I shall be there at seven in the a.ofm. when they open as appointments are not done, just first come first serve. Luckily I don’t have any bidness in any of the forties tomorrow, plus I can irk from anywhere so with notebook thingy in hand I can do stuff whilst I wait. Oh and voicemail is not workin’ on my phone. Natch none of the online “fixes” helped, so that means a call to tech support which is not open on Sunday. I would nap but I’m kinda agitated so that won’t work. Instead, I am doin’ laundry which I know will make MOOOOOOM happy.

Hope everyone else is havin’ a good or at least tolerable day.

I took a drive along the river this morning and stopped at a boat access park along the way. The river’s running strong with all the snowmelt. It was really pretty. Wish I had brought my camera.

I finally got the short story I’ve been taking a break with finished. It falls apart at the end, but it’s salvageable. It’s taking a rest in the “drafty” folder with all the rest of the “better as an idea than in execution” tales. Tomorrow I start back with the novel–I’m going to take a new approach with the second section since two of my characters won’t behave.

But for now it’s lunchtime. Then maybe I’ll watch Blue Velvet.

Hey, ctrl+I makes the italics tag pop up!:cool:

{{{swampy}}} Glad you were able to handle the blown tire without anyone getting hurt.

Deheathenation and laundry are the big plans for today over here.

Third load in the dryer, last one in the washer. Lazy, lazy day here.

Plumber is done, 3 hours and $305 later. Laundry and a shower now…

Sounds like a pretty reasonable plumbing bill to me, assuming it wasn’t just for $20 worth of drano repeatedly dumped down the drain…

I thought I was going to irk today but it looks like my phone is not working so I can’t. I could use my cell phone. It’s frowned upon but allowed, but I have heard when I use my cell phone with irk calls there is an echo.
I’ll put in a call to the cable company but I’m not sure if anybody is around on Sunday.

My computer has been messing up as well, keeps disconnecting from wi-fi. That created a little panic because Sah-son has 3 assignments due today and all his school stuff is on my computer. Two are done, the paper is sitting and resting until he proofreads it again.

Glad you handled the blowout safely Swampy.

Guess I’d better call the cable company, or get up off my lazy ass and do something else. I need to do laundry, and the dishwasher needs unloading, and the floors need cleaning.

That reminds me, Sah-son needs to unclog the drain upstairs. The tub is draining very slowly and I don’t like standing in ankle deep water while I’m in the shower. He gets to do that yukky job.

**sari **- I bought a little gizmo at Lowe’s - it does a good job removing hair clogs from the drain without chemicals. Cheap and easy - just like I like my men!

Last load in the dryer. I should probably get that cover letter done now.

I don’t know what he does, except it involves disassembling stuff. Between the two of us with our long hair and the dog getting a bath in there the drain clogs up pretty quickly.

I’ll look into getting those.

Cover letter and resume edited, printed, and ready to go. My sweetie will take it in tomorrow. I saw where the company is hiring engineers and a drafter - I’m a 2 fer 1, so we shall see… Fingers crossed.

Thanks Y’all! I just remind myself it’s all a part of life. The sucky part, mind you, but still all a part of life. Nobody died, there’s no bloodshed, just aggravation.

gigity glad the plumbin’ woes are over and that you are now all cleaned.

MOOOOOOM appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job.

Sari hope the phone/wi-fi problems are fixed soonest.

This is apparently stuff goes kablooey day in the MMP.

I bought some new bath towels and wash cloths and a bathroom rug on sale online. I got 10 towels, 8 wash cloths and the rug for a little over $100. It is being shipped in no less than 5 shipments. This drives me crazy. Also got a new wallet. It just seems so wasteful to have 5 different packages even though shipping was free.

Blue Velvet is a very strange movie. Of course, it is a David Lynch film.

Read and retained nothing so I shall wish you all rosie’s sig and go to fritter away the rest of the afternoon.

We went to the Old Town Pub for supper - first time we’ve ever gone there even tho they’ve been there since 2008. We had fish and chips - the server asked what we wanted for our sides - um, chips… They also came with a fried pickle spear. Not the best fish-n-chips I’ve ever had, but not terrible. We’ll go back again to try some of their other stuff. The only thing I disliked was all the tables are pub height. I don’t like sitting on the tall chairs. Still, decent food for a decent price and I don’t have to do dishes.

Higgs has been fed, and shortly, I will back lunches for tomorrow. Then chillage till bedtime.

Butters you have new towels, wash cloths, and a new bathroom rug on the way. How long before the bathroom remodel commences? You know those old fixtures, counters, tub, shower (or the combo thereof), and that old toilet will never do, especially with the new rug.

Blazing Saddles was fantastic! I’m surprised at all the details I picked up that you can’t really see in a smaller screen. I shouldn’t be; it is Mel after all. But it was still fun to catch it.

(The best was being able to catch the subtle expressions on Slim. That dude really did a fantastic job with that part.)

One card made and another designed. It appears that our Superbowl party will also celebrate no less than four birthdays. I took a break a d went to the Gimme 5 store this afternoon to paw through all of the [del] junk[/del] Amazon returns. I picked up a hot water bottle, a travel pill organizer, some studio stuff and a router for the 'puter for the small sum of $20. Go me!

Supper was cilantro lime chicken, herbed rice, green beans sauteed with bacon, onion and mushrooms and a salad. Breakfasts and lunches are made for the week. Time to kick back in the studio.

Chawklit cake and ice cream for dindin. What? That’s dairy, grains, chawklit which is good for us, and as for as I know no GMOs and gluten free.

Well, finished 4 hours of chasing 7-8 year olds around the gym, trying to keep them in some type of order. My feet are not on speaking terms with the rest of me, and my little toe on the left foot is hurling great curses at me…in other words, like the Norse God, I am Thor all over.

Got Garlic Cheese bread primed to go into the oven soon as I finish typing this.

swampy, glad you can get the tire done on Monday. Worst time I ever had was having a flat in the United Arab Emirates out in the middle of nowhere, alone, temperature 115F. That was not fun. Friend I called came along just as I finished with a 2 liter bottle of water, and I swear nothing in my life has EVER tasted that good.
