I wanted to add that I LOVED the score. I’m a bit of a sap sometimes and it was beautiful, and haunting, and IMO fit perfectly with the film.
I’m going tonight! I’m pumped. It’s going to be groovy.
I saw it the other day.
I was frankly disappointed- which is sad because I really wanted to like it. I think that a lot of people really want to like this movie, but it just doesn’t hold up.
It never got past thinking it’s own premise was clever. The actual zombie bit was straightforward and boring. I kept waiting for some kind of intrigue…some kind of twist. There was some great potential for Buffy-like investigation and stuff. But it wasn’t there. The zombie wasn’t interesting at all. Such a waste.
Opens in St. Louis November 21! WooHoo!
Yeah, I thought it was ok. I saw it with the Dallas group and the general concensus was that if we had been expecting a real movie we would have asked for our $8 back. Since we were looking for corn with Bruce Campbell in it, it was ok. Typical introspective indy film crap in his lame flashbacks. (the only one that I liked was when the trailor blew up. That was funny.
I saw it a month or two ago and I think it is one of the coolest movies I have ever seen. By the end, I had no doubt that the characters were indeed the real JFK (dyed black) and the real Elvis pretending to be someone pretending to be him. I hear that they are thinking of doing a prequel if this one makes some money. The movie would have BC’s Elvis fighting she-vampires many years earlier. Bruce Campbell is a god. I still laugh everytime I think of the line “The walker was really swinging easy tonight.” The stars forming the Egyptian phrase at the end was cool as well. The definitions of the words “Ho-Tep” and “Bubba” which are shown at the very beginning got a hell of a laugh too.
I really liked your review of Finding Nemo SolGrundy, but I couldn’t disagree with you more on this one. The movie is funny, touching, original, features superb acting, and delivers a ridiculous premise with a straight face. It doesn’t feel like a joke. My disbelief was completely suspended. I shed a few tears. They really relayed some wonderful thoughts on getting old and finding meaning in life. I would say this film makes it into my top 20 movies of all time list. Don’t miss this one people!

I liked the movie. I went with the Dallas group expecting a cheesy Bruce Campbell movie and it was more than that. It may not have been the best movie I’ve ever see, but I liked the sincerity of the characters so it upped my overall opinion of the movie.
