Bumps in the night - a noisy house MMP

You’re so creative! Do you sell your stuff at shows?

That’s what kills me, I have no creativity whatsoever. That’s why I always feel like a phony at art shows. I am excellent at copying designs that I’ve seen or improvising off of a familiar starting place, but I draw a blank at coming up with my own original ideas. :dubious:

Nah. I occasionally get ambitious and post on Etsy but nothing ever sells there. I have a few people that buy stuff I make with dog themes and my dog trainer is good for buying things that are pink and sparklie.

I like making stuff because it’s good as a stress reliever (especially kneading clay) and if I sell a piece here and there, it makes me happy. I am much too lazy to try to actually make a profit out of any of my crafts. I actually started out by copying other things. I started coming up with my own designs with Christmas ornaments. I love ornaments.

The vast majority of the things I make go to my mom. She brings me huge bags of crap jewelry that she gets at Goodwill and Savers. I break them apart and turn them into other things. But, I detest clutter and she loves jewelry so I usually just give it right back to her. My stepdad doesn’t seem to mind because instead of spending $10 each on crap jewelry, she spends $10 on junk and comes home with 10 or 15 things that are actually kinda nice.

Sweet Pea had surgery for bladder stones a couple of years ago. While recovering she had to wear diapers. Imagine a pudgy pug, in diapers that had to be held up by suspenders, her little curly tail sticking out the top. At least she didn’t have to go the Clown Cone of Shame route as well, because I might have contracted terminal guffaws.

Please please please tell me you have at least one picture of that!!!

Ugh.
Been thinkin’ me back issues were gettin better- then on wednesday my lower back and leg suddenly decided to go mental at me, and went back to the worst state they’ve been in since June. Even rolling over in bed feels like someone’s stabbing me (better than when it happened first time, when I was camping, and it really felt like something was stabbing my leg every time I rolled over- eventually realised my sewing needle had somehow jumped into my sleeping bag, and actually was sticking out my leg), and I’m walking like I should be changing my name to Igor- also got nasty head bruise after someone clobbered me on tuesday accidently, and my right ear’s all blocked up, possibly infected or summat, and I can’t hear at all.
Considering calling vet out to have me put down.

Other than that though, everything’s fine

By the way, all the clay talk here has made me decide to sign up for the next course at me local centre- I’ve not done any pottery stuff since I was a teenager, but I used to really enjoy it.
Need to go do some balloon modellin’ today, I said I’d teach a workshop at the circus society, but I’ve not done any for ages, so I’ll forget what I’m doin’ if I don’t have a practice. Anyone want a balloon doggy? Guaranteed not to pee on the carpet?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 82 and definitely not snowin’.

I read but have retained little. I’s still blurfy. I also have eight hyuuuuuuuuge <snerk> butts <snerk> in the beerator. Ashes[sup]2[/sup] actually I’ll be shreddin’ <snerk> butts <snerk> as opposed to pickin’ <snerk> butts. <snerk>

Anywho, yays, boos, hugs, gropes, noogies, wedgies, chitlins, trouts, how you doin’s as needed.

I must have more caffiene and I must needs feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Happy Firday!

Since I’s not irking today, I may well be able to kill the thread.

VWife has an early doc appointment about her draining wound. I hate to tell her that since it started, it looks much better and is reduced in swelling size. Seromas suck, but they serve a purpose.

Other than that, groceries, chores and a big ol’ nap await me today.

They serve to make you want to barf! Of course, I get especially oogied about that stuff, in fact I feel a little dizzy… Wait, wait… naw, just the usual air-headedness.

Eight butts Swampy? Are you feeding actual bears?

Like any good dog owner, I have pics of Sweet Pea in her apres surgery bondage gear, congo. If you hear cursing and plastic smashing, that’ll be me learning how to use my new scanner.

Filbert, your back is hereby ordered to be as strong as the tree you’re named after!

Nah. Whiskypalians who’ve been promised a free N.O.L. That’s scarier than actual bears.

Good morning and happy Firday!!

Speaking of doggy diapers, eons ago, before my folks moved to the boonies, my dad used to drive 3 or 4 women to work with him. We had a big station wagon, and they essentially paid for the gas and parking downtown. The most psycho of the women had a poodle that she treated waaaaaaaay better than she ever treated her husband (which explains why she ended up divorced.) When the poodle would go into heat, she’d put diapers on it. She claimed the dog would hide because she was ashamed of being in heat. Yeah, avoiding the nutso lady with the diapers had nothing to do with it.

Cute ornaments! I tried making some one year, but stoneware is way too heavy, and glazing small, flat items is tricky if you don’t have the right equipment (which I don’t.) I had bought cookie cutters to cut out the clay slabs - I’ve got tons of them. Now what I do is cut out shapes and attach them to things I’m making or make cutouts in things I’ve made. But not today. I’ll be trying to work out my sculpture idea. There’s still one part I’m not sure how I’ll handle.

The cold front barreled thru last night, and it’s in the 40s out there. No way I’m working in the yard today. It was also really windy last night, so there are tons of leaves down. They’re still wet, so I won’t be dealing with them for a while, especially with more rain promised tomorrow. I think it’ll be a good day to bake another apple crisp - I have some apples left to use up.

I had some cereal, but I need caffeine. And I forgot to clean the cat box, so as soon as I post this… how much longer can I drag it out??

Off to deal with the inevitable. Oh, and glad you survived, Woody!

It did indeed snow here yesterday, and it was bitterly cold, and I was totally unprepared. I mean, it’s not even Halloween!

I have never heard of doggy diapers but I have heard of duck diapers.

Oh, and Miata is one of the cars on my ‘list’.

barf…well not really as I’m psychologically incapable…but you get the idea.
I seem to have picked up whatever Sweetie had earlier this week. Throbbing headache, sore throat, and insanely queasy. Only problem is that Sweetie has to leave at 10:15 and firewood guy is coming at 10:00. He’ll help stack it but if you don’t help, he dumps and runs. Sweetie is gonna ask him to just dump and run because the more I move, the more I want to die.
Currently 31° outside and 50° inside. Projected high of 44° today with low 40s and snow showers all weekend. Fun times. The snow from yesterday stuck and it looks festive outside. I started making some more ornaments last night but they haven’t been cooked or glazed. Definitely not doing it now. Can’t handle the smell. Ugh.

Not sure I survived yet. Death came knocking again in the middle of the night. Man, I want this to be over.

We finally got a cold front, with a little bit of rain! It was 55° this morning, with a projected high of 66°. Tomorrow though, tomorrow will be SPECTACULAR! High in the low 70’s. w00t! The doggies will be so happy at the doggy park.

TGIF. This has been a long week.

I’m sorry for the sickies. Get well soon!

Read all, retained little. Rosie’s sig to all!

My spousal unit has one of those - with the automatically retractable hard top. I well and truly hate that car. It’s as bad as all the other sports cars he’s owned in the past - too low to the ground - with the added quality of being horribly uncomfortable for me. I’ve ridden in it once. I hate it. It actually makes me miss his Crossfire, and I wasn’t all that crazy about the Crossfire.

I suggested once that we trade in his Miata and my Scion for a nice, comfy sedan, like a Sonata. Boy, did I get the stink-eye for that one. He *lurves *sporty roadsters. I hates them!!! Well, at least the motorcycle is gone.

shortdrum and fiat the two of you amuse me so y’all are not allowed to die. I have spoken. So mote it be.

Gettin’ cloudy out but no rain predicted. Could the talkin’ head on TWC be wrong? Unpossible!

LOL Swampy. I’m not dying. I just want to when the queasies come. Being able to puke would make stomach viruses go so much faster but my subconscious refuses to cooperate.
I love our firewood guy. We found him by chance on Craigslist when we first moved in just about 2 years ago. His wood is awesome, he’s local, and he helps stack it. Oh, he also loves my dogs and says I make excellent coffee. Last year, we found someone cheaper and made the bad decision to get 4 cords of the cheaper wood. Big mistake. We totally got what we paid for. This year we went back to Bill. He has started kiln drying his wood and I can’t wait to see how it burns.

OK, Mumpers, riddle me this. Why would FedEx stick a delivery notice on the package that they delivered? I just retrieved a box from my front porch that had a not-filled-in sticky on it telling me they delivered my box. Um, okaaaaaay… And the delivery guy didn’t even ring the bell. I was sitting right here - I saw the truck drive up, I watched the guy run from the truck to my porch, then back again. Weird.

UPS will be making a delivery a little later - I ordered wheeled duffle bags for our cruise. I just called the company and they said they’re due to be delivered today. Yay!

Almost lunch time - I foresee the last of the leftover shepherd’s pie being ingested.

MOOOOOOM I’ve had little stickies on FedEx packages with the same note. My guess is FedEx be weird.

It got cloudy but now it’s all sunny again.
