But’s who the obscure House member who gets to elect themselves Speaker and thus President?
Bertie.

How many points and/or shots if he mentions Iran?
A few years ago, maybe about 5 or so ago, he said something about some sort of axis, and he said something about fighting terrorism until the fight is won. I seem to recall something about those topics. Yes, I’m sure of it.
Those simple throwaway words have to this point cost 3,000 lives, cost me 4 months in the desert surrounded by people who would just as soon cut my throat than help me, and brought us to the point where we are posturing towards both Iran and North Korea in a way seemingly calculated to get us into a war with them.
Yeah, I listen. I listen because whatever it is that the man is thinking he almost without fail tells the world publicly before he does it, and I’d like to know where I’m going next and for how long just as soon as humanly possible. Ignore the man at your peril. In the past, millions have doubted him when he spoke. I’ve learned not to doubt that he will follow through.
While I know what you mean, in reality that’s a tiny fraction of the actual number.
Count me in:
- Words he mispronounces:** 5**
- Phrases he screws up the syntax: 8
- Sentences he reads without the slightest notion of what he’s saying: I’ll shoot for 50
- Times he references 9/11?** 6**
- Times he says “War on Terror”? 18
- Times he references sending a (clear, loud, strong) message? 12
- Blames someone else (Saddam, Terrists, Islamo-fascists) for his fuck ups?
10 - Implies a 9-11/Iraq connection? 7
On preview, what BrainGlutton said- how many points if he starts in on Iran?
I’m guessing he throws in at least three references to Iran/Syria.
Yeah, I know. It’s not really fair of me to discount the Iraqi losses. It’s a tragedy, that’s what it is. A damn tragedy.
The text of the speech is here on Drudge. He’s still trying to pretend Iraq has something to do with 9/11.
Tragedies have dignity. This is nearer to farce, apart from the blood.
I really wasn’t targetting you with that comment, as I don’t think of you as one of those types who consider their civilian’s lives less important than our’s. It’s just a pet been a pet peeve of mine throughout this “war”. By the same token, I hate the term “collateral damage”, as it sugarcoats the fact that we’ve killed a heaping shitload of innocent people.
It’s a joke! A kneeslapper!
It always irritates me the way Congress always cheers and applauds these thing. I wish it was more like British Parliament where they accuse the Prime Minister of buggering sheep before he even gets his mouth open.
I’m loving how Fox News is playing up the Webb snub. I can’t wait to hear that rug-wearing bastard do his retorting best.
Well, shit. You’re right. It is very important to monitor the words of madmen with power.
Turn to HDNet. They’re having C-Span type coverage, but in high def.
Just looking over the Drudge:
Mentions of
9/11: 2
Iran: 2
Nuclear: 3 (2 in the context of weapons)
War on terror: 4
Terrorist(s): 17
Is it just me or is Cheney looking more reptilian than usual?
It’s the tie. Nobody looks good in purple.
No, he looks like the veritable Lizard King alright.
So help me out, how is he paying for everything he has proposed?
