Yeah, I’ve always enjoyed that bit of onomastic oddity. (Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon.)
Twitter has now banned Mick Flynn, Sidney Powell, and Ron Watkins (admin of 8kun, f.k.a. 8chan).
The Trump spawn are, I think, still active.
Was there a post about this or something?
ETA: never mind. You said POTUS, not his personal account. So he tried the official account for his own personal use and Twitter made it go poof? COOL!
I don’t think they are quite there yet, though they have removed some videos. As per the article I linked, Google’s very newly formed union has demanded action, and I’d guess a good portion of their other workers would be on board with it.
It was on CNN. As I understood it, it was just the tweet that went poof. No mention if the account was locked or not. The POTUS account should still be there for Biden.
That’s my kind of Saturday Friday Night Massacre!
The POTUS account is still there, but it’s most recent tweet appears to be from just before Christmas.
Errr, that should be Mike Flynn, not Mick.
Deleted tweet can be read here:
I keep flipping over to Hannity - who is railing against the left wing media mob for making a mostly peaceful protest look bad - because I keep hoping Trump will call in and make history.
If he has access to a phone, he will.
Holy hell, watching Trump make sock account after sock account, and then watching Twitter shut them down, is too fucking familiar. I think we’re at four now?
Seriously? That is priceless.
As if the POTUS doesn’t think we can figure out it’s him?
Oh, yeah.
I’ll be fine with changing the title of this thread to “Butt-Hurt Trump Takes to Semaphore” once Sean Spicer starts waving those big-ass flags from the White House roof.
Spicer? Oh, that’s because he’s the only WH staff who was ever an Eagle Scout (we know that because he often wore his uniform with the shorts and knee socks to work).
Why doesn’t Trump just write a letter to anyone to tell us how he feels? I guess it’s unfortunate that USPS takes a couple of weeks to process mail now.
Technically, he started posting under other accounts he controlled:
- First was @potus, where three tweets were deleted by Twitter
- Then his campaign’s Twitter account, which got shut down
- Then an official in his campaign changed his name and picture to ‘Donald Trump’ and it got shut down
- Additional MAGAt accounts are also changing their profile pics and backgrounds to match Donald Trump’s old one, with speculation growing that they will give him control of their accounts.
… and Rush Limbaugh deleted his Twitter account.
It gets pretty deep into the uncanny valley.
This was one of the tweets that was flagged and blocked by twitter staff. They looked at it and actually did give a shit: the subtext they inferred from it was “I won’t be there, so let the rockets fly!” Because, he has a history of saying things (“stand back and stand by”) in a way that provides him an avenue of deniability.
Seriously, what did Republicans think was going to happen when they started with the idea of repealing Section 230?
