Chief, your link didn’t “make” because vB now needs quotation marks in front of the “http” and before the second bracket (after the “html”). Bit ME on the ankle, too, that way, once.
Notthemama- If you click the “Automatically parse URL’s” box at the bottom of the window, it’ll do it all for you without quotes or tags…
Yeah, I know that–actually it’s the default now with vB, so I suppose that if for some reason you DIDN’T want an URL to turn into a link, you’d have to deselect it.
Chief’s link didn’t make because he was trying to make a hyperlink, where the words “in this week’s column” would be in blue and the URL wouldn’t show at all. To do that now, with vB, it wants you to put 2 sets of quotation marks in, whereas UBB didn’t need them. I suppose there’s some really good tech reason for that. After all, the techs wouldn’t put that in there just to “protect their phony-baloney jobs,” would they, “gentlemen?”
