Tuesday, I got a phone call from Human Resources, offering me the job for which I’d recently interviewed. Said job includes a 13% pay raise, a top-floor office with a window overlooking the lake, and a release from the horrible, horrible tedium and dissatisfaction that I’m currently experiencing. Best part was how happy my boss was to find out that I’d got it.
Tuesday night, we won trivia. $12 each, but money’s money. 'Sides, a come-from-behind win in the last round does add to the satisfaction.
Yesterday, a very good friend told me he’d proposed to his girlfriend and she said yes.
Last night I got to watch Superman (1978), which I haven’t seen in its entirety since forever.
Today, I got an e/mail from a friend inviting me out to a weekend getaway involving a hot tub, booze, games and several very good friends.
Then, my Mom’s going to be in town next week and will be able to see the play in which I play the lead. Originally, she wasn’t going to be able to make it, but we got extended and now she can. Plus, she’ll be bringing me a new Roots watch, a brand I dearly love and is very difficult to find down here.
And finally, I’ve got a wife I love dearly, and friends all around me; all of whom are genuinely happy to see me so happy and with whom I get to share this wonderful, wonderful week.
