Calendar Ap for iPhone (When Not Using a Apple Product Desktop)

I have an iPhone 6s, a Dell desktop, and use Yahoo mail and calendar.

My iPhone is my primary calendar (the one I use most) but the phone does not reliably communicate with my Yahoo calendar on the desktop. I use Firefox as a browser. When I try to look at the Yahoo calendar on desktop, it is usually blank.

I have reset and turned on and off both the phone and the desktop, added and eliminated iCloud, followed the various online directions several times to get the phone and calender to update, tinkered with “push” v “fetch”, and still I can’t get the phone and desktop to communicate well. Of course, in the process, I have managed to successfully dlete my phone calendar as well (OK- twice). this is very frustrating.

I was thinking of switching to the Google Chrome browser because I registered for school (starting the fall!) and they recommend Chrome and Google email. I was thinking to add a Google calendar app to my iPhone.

Does this seem like a good idea- just going Google on the iPhone?

I feel like I kinda got romanced into this iPhone and wish I had bought something else. It’s a nice phone and all, but my gut feeling is that Apple products really just don’t like non-apple products all that much.

Google Calendar syncs with the native iPhone app just fine.

Thanks!

We use that extensively. In fact, my husband and I have a shared gmail account that is used just for that purpose - so anything I put on my phone (Android) gets synched over to his (iPhone) “automagically”.

The Yahoo calendar should work, though I admit I haven’t tried it. My husband uses Yahoo email but I don’t think he uses the Yahoo calendar, just the iPhone-native one.

You don’t even have to share the account, you can sync calendars from multiple accounts.
