Synching between Google Calendar, Mac Calendar, and iPhone caldendar

Basically, I want to be able to input in Google Calendar and have it go to my iPhone. I’d also like to input in my iPhone and have it go to Google Calendar, though the latter is not strictly necessary.

Currently, if I input in my iPhone, it goes via iCloud to my Mac Calendar but does not go to Google Cal.

Also, if I input in Google Cal, it also goes to my Mac Calendar but doesn’t make it to my iPhone.

All of the settings seem to be right, but I must be doing something wrong. Thanks for the help!

I just put Google Calendar on all my devices. Works great—except for not understanding time zones very well.

Thanks for that insight. Any further ideas as to what might be going on? Thank you!

No, I was just suggesting an approach that avoids the problem altogether. Google Calendar is free, and seems to do everything the iPhone Calendar does.

The Apple calendar should see Google calendars. However you may not have the credentials fully set up on the iPhone. The iCloud component only provides storage - it doesn’t know how to push the data to Google. That actually needs to come from the device you are entering into the calendar from. It sounds as if your phone doesn’t have the full credentials set up. Similarly for seeing entries.

In general this is a continuing problem with the two worlds of iDevices and Macs. Apple is slowly converging them, but they do not yet form a seamless whole. Things fall between the cracks. You need to ensure that both sides (iDevice and Mac) are fully set up. You can’t yet trust that settings and credentials migrate properly.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
