Why aren't events from Google Calendar not showing on my other devices?

I use Google Calendar on my Android phone.

I was on my Android Tablet today and opened Google Calendar. None of my events come up? I pressed refresh. No change.

I went to Google and confirmed the Tablet is signed into my account.

Isn’t device independence the point of Google? Should the calendar display on all my Android devices and even my laptop?

Gmail works on all my devices. I see the same inbox.

Is there something else that needs setting up to sync Google calendar on all devices?

I had to install Google Calendar on my new phone from the play store. Samsung had their calendar App on my phone.

This is weird. I created a test event on my Tablet calendar.

Pops up fine on my phone calendar.

But events on the phone aren’t going to the Tablet?

OK I figured it out. The phone is saving Events to My Calendar and not my Google. I have to figure out why and change the default

Is My Calendar saved locally on the device?

Quick follow up. I couldn’t move my appointments from My Calendar to Google Calendar. Calendar name is grayed out when editing a event. I had to delete all of them and reenter.

Calendar is placing my events on Google. I only had to change the Calendar name one time and save a Event. It’s continuing to remember that preference.

Another PITA dealing with a new phone and Samsung’s version of Android.

Which calendar app are you using? The one that has a square with blue, yellow, red, green and a 15 in the middle? Or the all aqua/white 15? It’s kind of obnoxious they both have the same name but the former is Google and the latter Samsung.

That said, they both show up on my phone fine. Pull down the “hamburger” 3 line menu in GC, make sure everything on the left is checked, I have two separate sections associated with my email. Also make sure that permissions are set in App info.

I have the blue, yellow, red, green square with 31 in it.

Samsung sure tries to lure users into using their similar Apps.
