California is a rumbling...

Earthquake in CA a few minutes ago.

Not a huge one, only 5.1 by the scale.

More proof of global warming!

Where? Didn’t feel anything down here.

Near Anza, Ca.

Feh. No one lives out there.

The first (largest) one has been downgraded to a 4.7, but I find the claims that it was felt in downtown LA kind of odd, considering I’m on the 40th floor of a building there.

Not weird at all. I was once on the phone with my husband, who was at his office a few blocks from mine in downtown SF, and mentioned we were having a quake, but he didn’t feel or see a thing. At my desk, there were ripples in my coffee cup, like that scene in Jurassic Park, and the window blinds were bouncing around.

Exactly. I wonder if there was a single human being who actually felt it.

I felt it -my first earthquake!
Was on the fifth floor of a hotel in Pasadena. Gentle swaying motion, maybe ten seconds. Thought at first someone was moving something, but it lasted too long.
This may be my last trip to SoCal in quite a while, so I find it fitting that i finally experienced one, after 20 years of fairly regular visits.

Fairly comical — only the announcer on the far left seems to take notice: via Tennis Channel.

Didn’t even feel it. The Bay Area is safe… for now…

Anza! I’ve been there several times. Anza is small, yes. Hemet is larger and isn’t too far away. Temecula is a little farther still. My ex-wife’s grandmother (R.I.P.) lived there, years ago. Right near Ramsey Road and Chapman Road, near Terwilliger Rd.

“Tutu” was a great lady. I named my daughter after her - I originally picked the name, and my (then) wife agreed.

Anza. Fond memories…
