Calling all EVERQUEST players!

Glory you are in Afflicition???

/boggle

They kick ASS! Say hi to Khorn for me? He is so nice!

Opal I love the idea, but besides being an officer in a small guild, and I am trying to level my necro so she can group with the 50’s and I can retire that crack whore Kehli.

I might pop over, but I just dont have the time to put into a third main char. :frowning:

Count me in. Druzzil Ro sounds good. I’ve been playing casters for 2 years, maybe I should try my hand at melee.

Count me in. I’m primarily on Tunare right now. Just say when and where and I’ll go start a character.

I could do Druzzil Ro. Is this going to be a weekly get-together thing? Are we going to all be from one continent, or just try to make our individual ways to whatever the most popular zone atm would be?

I nominate Opalcat to be our GL since she thought of this.

I play on 7th Hammer but I will be ON Druzzil Ro.

Are we going to try to name our characters with our SMDB handles?

Good ta see ya Ope.

Are we going for a once a week thing or just a “make a character and we’ll see if we can ever hook up” type thing? Mind you, I’ve no problems with either but if it’s the former then we should set a day and time to start out so half of us aren’t already at level 12 when the rest are still looking for their guild leader so they can get their tunics.

I can’t stand playing a caster, so mage, necro, wizzy and 'chanter are out. I’ve a bard as my main and I’m not looking to twist songs in my “off time” as well as my main time, so no more bards  I’d probably go cleric, warrior or paladin. I’ll see what the rest choose and pick from where we’d have more need since I’m equally up for any of the three.

In retrospect, I should have voted for Quellious, patron deity of wisdom and pursuit of knowledge. How many GMs do you think we’d have to bribe to get “Teeming Millions” as a guild name?

kellibelli - yep, been in Affliction nearly 18 months now, joined when we were struggling to do Fear and now we’re clearing NTOV, it’s pretty cool. And Khorn is a VERY sweet guy, he was actually guilded in Affliction way back when with his necro, Velkyn. I recognized you from this board and gave you a shout out in game in Umbral Plains not to long ago! (glory = Gloriana)

I still think you guys should pick Emarr, I don’t have a huge amount of free time, but the fact I can double box a 60 shaman and a 58 enchie means really good PLing potential. Group focus or group clarity anyone?

Woot! I wondered if that was you!

What a funny night! We still tease Kog about killing a newbie (ROFL) that guy was SUCH a dick that night, (the beggar, not Kogginn, althought Kogginn IS a real dick too)

My guild is hosting its first ever hate raid in a couple of weeks, my IG hubby Braydin as a matter of fact, I made it up last week with Sacrum Mortis, and promptly got wiped out, I am hoping his raid pans out as he needs his epic peice. Kehli will be there, but only so I can throw her into the path of the mobs and save my honey.
I have to get out more.

For a guild name I think we should shoot for “The Adams Family” but that may cause problems. The Addams Family is a trademark, or at least copyrighted, but with only one ‘d’ we may be able to get it.

Druzzil Ro sounds fine with me, may not be able to take a break from my regular gaming right now because I’m looking to get money for an equipment upgrade I desperately need.

I’d also be interested in meeting some of you who regularly play on Tunare some time

Steven

I think we’re about a million times more likely to slip Teeming Millions past them than Adams Family.

Druzzil Ro it is!

Now when shall we get together?

And where? It would be fun to pick a newbie stomping ground and all try to hang out together?

What newbie area would be accessible to the greatest variety of race/class combos? GFay is accessible to Wood Elves, High Elves, Dwarves and not too bad for Gnomes. Humans that start in Freeport can also get there without too much trouble. If we got tired of GFay we could also knock around in Butcherblock or Steamfont.

The Commons, on the other hand, who be more accessible to folks who want to play Halflings, Dark Elves, Ogres and Trolls. And it wouldn’t be too hard for people from Faydwer to get there.

Not meant to be mandatory, mind you. If someone wants to start a Vah Shir, stay on the moon and just interact with us in guildchat, they should be allowed. But I’d rather group and do silly things like see how many level 3 characters it takes to kill a minotaur.

This is why I was actually in favor of going to a server which some of us had characters on already. I primarially play a monk, but I have access to alts that can help get people from place to place(no wizzies or druids high enough to port, but other players may or I could ask some guildmates to help out) and do things like re-bind people. That way we could start whatever races/classes we wanted and still be able to come together.

Steven

I’m happier pulling myself up by my own bootstraps, so to speak. I’m really not interested in being powerlevelled or twinked or whatnot. I get enough of the level/loot race in my normal game. With soulbinders in every starting city and the Nexus, getting about shouldn’t be that hard. Heck, I ran a lvl 5 cleric from Freeport to Qeynos before (including a Divine Aura’d run through Runnyeye with a half dozen goblins beating on me)

I like the Steamfonts idea. Underused, but the kobold camps and then the area outside the mino caves could keep a group amused for quite some time. Of course, if I started a cleric, it sure wouldn’t be a gnome cleric…

Again, all just my opinion

If you have Luclin you can use the Nexus to take you whereever you need to go in 30 minutes or less. With Soulbinders anybody can get a bind once you get there. I started a monk in Freeport on DR named Laoz with Gfay or EC in mind as being a meeting place. Nearly every place is in easy reach, except for Qeynos/Erudin. Got him to level 4 already; that patch to make the newbie game shorter helped a lot.

Heh, I was xp’ing in high keep once and there was a trio of lvl 1 gnomes (a cleric, a warrior, and a rogue) who had run all the way from Steamfont on their way to Qeynos. Our shaman thought it was so funny he dropped out the group to give them a bind.

Why not? They’re so cute.

ACK! where the hell did my log-ass post go?? I’ll try to recreate it in brief…

  1. Location
I recommend Feydwer because it’s small and easy to move around in. You can start a High Elf, Wood Elf, Dwarf or Gnome in Feydwer, or start a Human in Freeport and hop on the boat. Vah Shir can easily get a lift from Luclin or get an escort to the Nexus to port down to GFay.

  2. Times
I think that we should play freely and hope to meet up in addition to having scheduled times that we play together. We should meet several times a week both day and night so that everyone has a chance of making at least some of the scheduled times. If everyone gives the days and times they are most available we can plan our shedule around those.

  3. Names
I think that if possible you should have something at least similar to the name you have on the board, as close as you can come while still staying with EQ naming conventions. I’ll probably be Opalcat, btw. I will probably start a Vah Shir shaman and get a ride down to GFay as soon as I can.
So if those interested can reply with this boring formulaic thingie, it will be easier to tabulate:

Location: Feydwer (or other)
Good days: MTWThFSaSu (yeah all of em for me)
Good times: 11am - 2am just about every day except M & T afternoons
Race: Vah Shir (what race will you probably create – we won’t hold you to it if you change your mind)
Name: Opalcat (what name you will likely use if you can get it)

Cuteness doesn’t make up for the lowest wisdom of any clerical race… heck, it’s below the magic 75 mark. Gnome paladins crack me up: Let’s take the race with the lowest wisdom of all the clerics and the lowest strength of all the warriors (ok, tied with dark elves) and combine them into one uber-suck hybrid! Hehehe… actually, I have a gnome warrior on another server so don’t go thinking I’m all about min/maxing the game, but it’s still pretty funny.

I think I’m gonna go make my character and start her on her merry way killing silkworms and beetle hatchlings while looking for friendly wizzies to port or tl me down

UDD has a HiE cleric (on the Rathe) that he really enjoys playing. I would make a dwarf character but I am short and fat enough in real life as it is.

Location: Faydwer
Good days: MTWThFSaSu
Good times: Sun - Thurs: either 0500 - 0900 or 1400 - 1700 EST
Good times: Fri and Sat: any time
Race/Class: Half-Elf Bard (maybe, depending on starting city)
Name: Heresiarch

I’m in Korea, that’s why my weekday play hours or so messed up. I’m at work during prime playing time, so I hope we decide to have one of our regular get-togethers on Friday or Saturday. (please?)

I don’t want to devote a lot of time to a new character. (I already have a main and three alts.) I’ll invest a little time to get to level ten, but after that I’ll probably just join up at scheduled meeting times.

My goal here is socializing, not levelling. I’m guessing (and hoping) that other folks feel the same way.

Mtgman, what’s the name of your character(s) on Tunare? Mine are Amerry, Qelaar, and Tipsie. Send me a tell.
