neuroman, you up for your last pick.
I’d imagine we probably don’t want to start a new thread for every new mock we start, as the board could get cluttered quickly. Of course, IANAM, so…

Munch:
DO we need to reset our passwords to “Cecil#”?
Yup, reset those babies back to “cecil#”. I’m actually swamped at work, if someone could set up a new one - or we could wait until noon, when I’m free.
WL, now that Indy picked a TE in the draft, would you pick Pollard again in the top 5 TEs? Living in Indy, it seems a very curious pick - this new guy isn’t the blocker that Dilger was. I wonder if Pollard is going to be traded, or have his role switched.
You didn’t ask me, but, no! Isn’t this the same team that threw away Ken Dilger in favor of Pollard?
Noon is fine w/me.
Good grief. Next time I’ll read the whole question.:smack:
If I want to trade my draft for yours, does that mean you won?
i think i won
anyone catch the draft? the vikings are crazy.
Quick thoughts on each team
•Carmendacious dopers – In only an 8 man league, you should have 2 Studly RBs, and I’m not sure you do. This team is boom or bust, particulary WRT how the Vikings do this year. :-p
•The Maroons – Outside of LT, I’m not crazy about this team. I think that taking Holt at pic 18 was a reach, with some of the other WRs still available.
•team2 – This team is very solid. I think Koren is a great pick in the 7th, I was eyeing him.
•my Team – Pretty happy, in retrospect I think I may have grabbed Gardner a bit too early. I probably would have taken Driver in that spot if I had it to do over again.
•Camel Toes --This team is one WR short of being dominating. Team up a top 10 receiver with Plax and this team would be unstoppable.
•cecil5 – In an 8 man leaue Ladell Betts and TJ Duckett are very thin for RBs…which means you are putting all your stock in Garner (not a bad decision) and EGeorge (this would worry me a little bit.) Solid WRs.
•WL – This team … could wind up in first or sixth…so many unknowns. Will Faulk return to form? Is the Edge healthy, finally? Will Boston click immediately in San Diego? Can Brooks put together a consistan year like he’s been hinting he could do for 3 years now? If all those answers are yes you can give WL the trophy right now. As it stands, I’ll wait for more evidence of Edge’s return and Boston’s performnce in SD.
•Munch – Thin at QB. Other than that, just N-A-S-T-Y. I would not look forward to seeing this lineup as my opposition on any week.
Early favorites: Munch, and me.
Definate contenders: WL, Camel Toes, Team 2
New thread is up for the new draft. Also, I posed a “rate this draft” on the message board over there, if anyone wants to take a look.
It was, but with no time to prepare, I don’t feel too bad about this draft. Also, it is invaluable to learn other people’s opinions of some of these guys. Come August, I feel I’ll have a leg up on the rest of my league.
“Also, it is invaluable to learn other people’s opinions of some of these guys. Come August, I feel I’ll have a leg up on the rest of my league”
Agree 100% …thats why we do these things.
Okay, me too. I can’t resist.
•Carmen: Questions at RB (although many options to choose from), only 3 WRs. Strong elsewhere but this team could falter.
•Maroons: Questionable depth at RB, dominant at QB. Decent assortment of WR but nobody inspirational, though Porter could be huge.
•mrchan/hustler (‘team2’): Very balanced team, strong in most areas. Not the most reliable stable of RBs (Alexander’s streaky, Barber maybe flash in the pan, Barlow and Mack could succeed but need help), but no arguments with QB or WR. This team is solid.
•mouthbreather: Another well-balanced team. Taking a third QB to insure Warner was probably smart, and the RBs could dominate although I wouldn’t count any but Deuce as a sure thing. 2 star WRs and maybe some weakness below them.
•Camel Toes: Good balance but I have my doubts. No gamebreaking WRs and a couple of wasted picks. Hearst, Jones, and Pittman together make up slightly more than one fully functioning RB, so if Holmes, Green, and Lewis have any problems (not at all implausible) you’d have depth trouble.
•neuroman (‘team 5’): Well, yeah. The rap is the RBs. Decent assortment of WRs, nice QB duo, but your RBs need to carry you and this squad won’t do that.
•WL: Nary a mention in the AntSports thread, I’m flying under the radar. I’ll admit to questions about my top RBs, but I’m confident that either Faulk or James will perform up to the expectations of a top 3 back, and the other one plus Smith and Canidate should carry the slack. I like my WRs and while a Brooks/Johnson tandem may not be sexy, I think my numbers will be fine.
•Munch: This is the team. Depth at WR maaaay be a bit thin, and I’m no longer a Billy Miller believer, but that’s easily reparable. Very nice RBs, good WRs.
In the final eyeball: Munch, mouthbreather, hustler, WL, Camel Toes, Carmen, Maroons, neuroman.
