Okay, there’s only 8 months left until the season starts up again, so we really need something to occupy ourselves with in the meantime. In other words - I’m bored out of my skull, and need to find something to obsess about immediately.
I did a bunch of these pre-season, and I think it really helped my team this year (top 4 in every one of my leagues). I’d previously been hovering around the middle or the bottom of the league. I’ve also spent some time around their message boards, but haven’t participated. They seem like a fairly xenophobic group, which is fine, but they have pretty short tempers. But I’d like to mock with some people I somewhat know. So, if you’re interested sign up, throw a “SDMB” at the end of your team name, and I hope to see you soon!

And just to let everyone know, it seems that the drafts are currently kind of messed up - it isn’t removing players that are picked. Makes things quite difficult.
Ha, Munch, you did so well because everyone else sucked. Plus you became commissioner and changed the rules. I double dog dare you to put the rules back where you found them. Like individual defensive players. Team defense is for cowards who don’t fully understand the game.
WL, just register and sign up for a regular Mock Draft. The SMDs (Serious Mock Drafts) have quicker turnaround times (9 hours per pick), but you have to qualify for them. I’m not sure if you can still do that. If you really want, you can e-mail Steve, the guy that runs things over there and ask him to qualify you.
The most important thing is to pre-draft. If for some reason you can’t get to a computer, and your time runs out, you’re put on Computer Control for the rest of the draft (you can still pre-draft on CC, though).

Hey Munch, check out the draft thread going over in Cafe Society. And just since I’m too lazy to click on the link (or reread the thread), is this to draft players for Fantasy Football, or a mock draft of the NFL draft? I don’t really care too much about the NFL draft this year, since Gruden and winning the Super Bowl has pushed us down to about the 93 pick to start with. A lot of quality talent there, I can tell you.

And just a reminder - pre-drafting is your friend. Also, you get 12 hours to make your pick, but if you time out, all you can do is pre-draft from there on out. Timing out certainly isn’t a sin, I’ve done it many times as I can’t log in at night. But by pre-drafting, you can stay at least one round ahead of everyone.
