Alrighty then. Another week, another mock draft. Who’s interested? I think we should do two 10 team drafts. The 14 team draft was exhausting, the 8 team was too easy, and 12 will also probably run into the weekend.

So, put your name down, and let me know if you’re available for the second draft in case we don’t fill it. Any and all are welcome to join us. We’ve been doing this the last two weeks, and it’s been a lot of fun, as well as highly educational for those of us who are going to be playing fantasy football this fall.

Also, make sure you change your passwords back please.

The “Preferred draft position?” is if you really want to try out a specific spot in the draft, like 2nd, or 8th, or whatever. First come, first serve.

My only advice goes out to those with a favorite home team out there. I suggest that you don’t pick your favorite players at all, so that you can see where they go in a typical draft. This is an excellent tool to see where people fall, and you can’t see that if you pick your favorite player super early.

Also, there’s an “Average Draft Pick” link on all the draft pages that shows you a composite of all the drafts done in the last several months on the site, so that you can get a very accurate picture of who you should be looking at at a particular moment. It’s certainly not the bible of fantasy picks, but it’s an incredibly accurate and useful tool.

Well, I made a mess of that.

My password and Toes password have been returned to original.

That average draft position was interesting. Apparently, a lot of folks think Priest Holmes will be good as new for the coming season.

wadda, keep in mind that computer control has priest at the top spot as well, so there’s a small sampling of drafts that had the top pick go CC. Also, I think a lot of people pick Priest at #1 with the disclaimer “if he’s healthy”.

Also, I should mention that I’m leaving Friday afternoon for ChiDope, so I’ll have to go on autopilot or something if it runs into that.

How much do you think Holmes being #1 overall actually skews the ADP when it comes to CC selections? I would assume that at #1, a drafter isn’t very likely to allow his pick to go to CC.

You’d be suprised how many people request the #1 draft position and don’t even predraft the person they’re drafting! As for timing out at the #1, I’ve seen it happen. Oftentimes, it’s someone who is the first to sign up for a particular draft, and it doesn’t get going for a week or so. By then, they’ve forgotten about it, and it’s off their radar. Pisses me off to no end.

I want to jump in, but I have two concerns:

  1. I’ve been really busy and I don’t want to piss anyone off by having to miss a few important picks.

  2. I really like all you guys and I don’t want to send you all into fits of crying, complete with the rending of garments and wearing of sackcloth, when you get to see first hand, the fantasy football genius that is Hamlet. After lulling you into a false sense of security last year, I don’t want to embarrass you in a mock draft.

If either of those don’t bother anyone else, count me in.

I’m up for it, but I have only done live fantasy drafts before, so no clue how this will work. I’m only more confused by the password comment. But if you need me, count me in at any, maybe, and C.
