WCVB Boston channel 5 is re-running my interview on their show Chronicle tomorrow night (Tuesday, November 24) at 7:30 P.M.
The Boston Public Library is hosting a Virtual Lecture by me on Lost Wonderland at 6 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

I had recordings of two of the Wonderland songs made, and posted them on my website at www.lost-wonderland.com
This was how you did advertising jingles back when there was no internet, no TV, no radio, and virtually no phonographs. You had advertising songs composed that touted the virtues of your park, performed them in public every chance you got, then sold people the sheet music so that they could play them at home, re-living the experience and spreading the word to their neighbors every time they held a sing-along.
Lecture tonight at 6 PM. It was supposed to be at the Boston Public Library, but because of COVID, it’ll be online.
Got between 150 and 200 viewers (well, computers - I know of at least one with multiple viewrs) at the lecture last night. It would’ve been a lot more fun if I could actually have lectured at the hall in the BPL basement. But you take what you can get. A lot of folks commented that they were going to get the book.
CalMeacham (it won’t let me tag you for some reason…) I just purchased a paperback copy of The Traveler. It looks quite interesting. I teach reading / literacy in a boarding school and if it is as good as you (and Amazon) say it is I’ll advocate to my admin to get a full classroom set.
Oh My God, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot!
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the book.
If you’re really interested, put a note here and I can get in touch with you about explanatory notes I wrote up for the book (in case some people needed further information about some of the more obscure points).
I’ve made a five minute “commercial” for Lost Wonderland that will be on view at the Boston Book Fair’s “Book Bites” on Saturday May 22 at 4 PM
I’ve also written a new entry for the Oxford University Press blog about “Tanagra Theater and the Fishbowl Mermaid”, about the scandalous history of the Nude Miniature Mermaid illusion. It’s to appear sometime soon in the Oxford University Press blog
I have added ThE traveler to my Amazon Wish list.
Yay!!
Ordered, read and five star review given.
I will send you the review when Amazon posts it.
Thank you very much for your kind comments, and for submitting a review to Amazon. I can use all the good word I can get.
