I was looking at the other thread about what you would wear if you were the opposite sex, and there were a couple guys that said they would dress “slutty”. It got me thinking - can a guy dress slutty? I will put this out to start - slutty/sexy is in the eye of the beholder - what I might think is over the line someone might think is the best thing ever. But what I am saying is there something a man can wear that if you would see him, you would immediately think “slut”. Personally, I can’t think of anything - I can think of plenty of things that make me say “tacky”, “ugly”, etc. - but not slutty.
See, I think a man can dress sluttily (invented my own adverbial form there). Maybe it’s more Pimp-Daddy than slutty, but if I see a guy wearing black leather pants and a tight, shiny shirt, that looks kinda slutty to me.
I went to a Halloween party dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and my date showed up as his own version of the Big Bad Wolf----tight black jeans, cowboy boots, black cowboy hat and a black see-through net shirt unbuttoned to his sternum to show off his gold chains. What a slut!
I don’t think there’s an exact equivalent for men, at least not in my opinion.
Anytime a guy dresses in real tight clothing, or tries to reveal his “assets” this comes across to me as looking “cheesy”, not slutty.
I think if a guy wants to look like a “player”, he’s got an entirely different wardrobe than tight pants and muscle shirts. I’m thinking of what a guy would wear to a club if he wants to pick up on chicks. He’d want to look suave and smooth, not “trashy”, as sometimes the chick version of slutty implies.
While those photos that Spiff link to are “slutty”, to me that’s more in the feminine sense - see-through clingy stuff. Not really “male” in my book. I hope that makes sense.
It’s hard for me to say because I’m not really aroused visually (which I think is true for many women).
For a woman to dress slutty, she would make men around her want to shag her, just on the basis of her looks. I don’t think there’s anything a man could wear that would have that effect on me (other than old jeans and a T-shirt, but I don’t think that counts).
I did, however, once sit beside a man on the bus who I was prepared to take straight home with me because of his wonderful smell. I have no idea what it was but it surely had the same effect on me that women wearing stilletto heels and halter tops have on men …
I don’t think so. As a matter of fact, I don’t even know what a “slutty” is. However, I do think that it is possible for a man to dress sluttily, even though I don’t know what he would wear if he did.
When a woman dresses slutty, she’s showing off her sexual attributes. So, a male version would be, extremely tight pants that leave no mystery to the size and shape of what’s inside.
Oh,yes! Several years ago, hubby and I were working a booth at the Dayton Hamvention and Computer Show™, and there was this guy there, walking around. . .denim shorts that were short enough that, I swear to God you could see pubic hair, and tight enough that you could tell he was circumcised!! Also, a “muscle shirt” that was really just a little strip of fabric down his stomach, between his nipples. If that ain’t slutty, I don’t know what is.
See, I disagree with this assessment. When I think of slutty, I think, not so much that they make you want to shag them on the basis of looks, but rather that they look look like they would be willing, any one, any time, any place.
Yeah, but “player” for guys translates to something different for women than “slut.” The women in the gold lame shirt and tiger striped stirrup pants in Vegas are dressing slutty, but it, too is coming off as cheesy.
I always think of Anthony LaPaglia in “The Client” (he played the bad guy gangster). He had this one outfit that was a kinda sheer mesh black top which just looked so slutty. But that was the kinda guy he was playing.
