Or more specifically, write staff reports. All mods automatically become members of the SDSAB, but not all SDSAB members are mods. Mods who resign from the message board adminstration retain their SDSAB status if they wish. Or that’s the way it’s supposed to work. In practice, the mods don’t generally write a lot of staff reports though simply because their day-to-day activities here consume a substantial amount of time. (With a couple notable exceptions, such as bibliophage and Dex. Euty and David B used to write a pretty fair number of them, too, but not so much lately.)
The members of the SDSAB who are not mods (such as myself & manhattan now) write the staff reports only; they have no role in the day-to-day functions of the message boards and are not privy to those operational discussions. SDSAB members work under the direction of Dex. Anything SDSAB members post on the boards of an administrative nature carries no more weight than that of the general membership; it is of informational nature only and is not to be construed at the official word of the message board staff in any way. In fact, we, and especially those of us who were once moderators, are specifically asked to refrain from postings of this nature to avoid any confusion among the membership. SDSAB members are subject to the same rules which apply to the general message board membership. SDSAB (and the message board staff, of course) have been given complementary subscriptions to the boards by the Chicago Reader in appreciation for their service.

His actions kinda lose their value though when it takes such a brow-beating to get him to something that is so obviously the correct thing to do and he was so obviously in error. And yet I note the monkey continues his attempt to dance, even tho’ he’s now got no legs upon which to stand. Counting against his most righteous action is at least one more attempt to rationalize away his ignorance: “the suggestion that he did not mean what he said is withdrawn.” Snort. And I won’t even mention again that Euty actually explained himself prior to your second accusation against him, you feckless, legless, dancing ape.
His actions lose even more value when he insists on compounding error-upon-error:
Error #1: I knew immediately, as did so many others, that Euty’s comments were sarcastic in nature. The words in all caps and the exclamation points are dead giveaways, you humorless putz.
Error #2: I’ve contributed at least as much to this thread as you. Your posts here are even devoid not only of accuracy, but also of mildly entertaining invective. Hell, I even got you to modify your ignorant stance in this thread. That’s gotta count for something since you’ve displayed such an unyielding and obstinate ignoranance here. I want my merit badge.
Error #3: I’m not a member of the “hard right.” Nor is there any evidence that the “hard right” engages in schoolyard invective with a greater frequency than members of the left.

Well I’ll say this. The guy (“Euty”)says this shit. Then I respond to it as if it was posted in all seriousness because I didn’t know he was being sarcastic. Then the guy posts the same shit. And I don’t recall any “all caps” or any other so called “indicator” that it was “sarcastic” - plus I have yet to see the rules where that shit indicates sarcasm.
So, IMO, the people at fault in this moronic argument are the ones defending posts and posters who don’t mean what they post. “Oh gee, that was sarcasm you dummy” Coupla giant fucking pissants, IMO.
