Can we please have a better week in the MMP?

A manager at an industrial supply company I used to work for was caught moving merchandise out the back door and taking it out of inventory as “damaged.” He was terminated but not prosecuted.
He later got a job collecting money at a tollbooth, and was eventually terminated and prosecuted for stealing from the till.

Thieves gonna thieve, and I’ll bet it eventually catches up with AM.

Ye gods, I hope so.

I had to shake that asshole’s hand today. In front of the sixteen-y-o at the same meeting. Who was, ehrm, not so happy, either.

Howdy Y’all! Today was major sloth time. Regret it we do not. We did learn, however, that the red leather mission style chair OYKW donated to the church yahd sale (which is officially this Sattidy) got sold yestiddy for a hunnert bucks. OYKW was stoked to here this. I was stoked to get that ugly chair out of the bedroom.

Cad I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a fur baby is huge. I am glad she had some good QOL until the end. She knew she was loved and loved you right back.

Kropotkin as others have said, there is nothing to “get” here. The MMP just is. Our motto is “Keeping MPSIMS neat and tidy by doing all our rambling posts here.”

Cookie the cleaners sound like a couple I know. They drive me crazy, but when they do stuff, it’s done right. Hope your cleaners were the same way.

talkie sometimes ya just gotta go and get stuff done. Don’t beat yourself up.

VanGo glad you are plague free. And, yeah, KFC will do that to ya. I know this and still sometimes just have to have KFC original even though I know I am goin’ to suffer big time.

shoe rest assured, if AM is takin’ from the till he will get caught. Thieves are gonna thieve but can’t get away with it indefinitely.

St Cad, I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. Burying a pet seems to make things so final, I’ve done it several time.

Today was mostly slothful. But for the first time in quite a while I took Mauser to the local dog park. He loved roaming free again, and met a number of his doggie friends. I think I’m going to take him two or three times a week, weather allowing.

I had some sad news on the phone, a member of our church has died. He was one of the first people I talked with when I started attending at this congregation. I’m terrible at remembering names and this man was very tall, giving me something to recall him easier. The funeral is this Friday, and I certainly will be there. I’ll probably go early, to help set up a reception that will follow. Lord knows I’ve done that sort of thing often enough.

Humpday has been humped, and finally all the kids are back at school. Seems like Spring Break season gets longer every year. Nice to get a normal quiet Moonday for a change.

[rant]WHY DO I HAVE THE SMURF THEME STUCK IN MY HEAD[/rant]

Yeah, when I moved in with previous roommate, it took muzzles, cages, and choke collars to get Gordie(60lbs. JRT) and Teddie(180lbs. GDS mix) to accept each other. It was Fifty Shades of Stray.
But hope you feel better.

Nope, you got it.

Anonymous tip ti Loss Prevention?

I got a bunch of stuff done today and then went to the gym. Why it was so crowded today when it’s sunny and warm, I don’t know. The first frustration was someone who sat at a machine I needed just to text for 15 mins. I decided to start with mat work, but twice the woman at the bench 7 feet from me dropped a 15 lb. weight inches from my head, so I quit that. I got on a treadmill, but despite the signs urging people not to do so AND acres of available treadmills, a woman hopped on the one right next to mine. I moved. After that, everything was fine.

shoe, ugh on the AM. Eons ago, I worked in hospital admissions. The dept. head grilled me about $20 missing from the till. I am honest to a fault–Mom once had me turn in $1 I found at a Burger King because it wasn’t really mine–and wouldn’t have dreamed of stealing money. 2 years later, he was fired for embezzling $$. Do whatever you need to do to protect yourself from false accusations: video, witnesses, etc. I mean it. The AM throws people under the bus to cover his sins, and you shouldn’t be one of them.

St. Cad, I’m so sorry about your beloved pup. I don’t understand why your kids didn’t offer condolences, but I’m glad you have Mrs. Cad to commiserate.

Seanette, I’m so glad you filled us in on your health crisis. Please don’t ever feel bad about doing so. I spend way too much time on far less serious things and haven’t been here as long as you have, and nobody complains. We care about you, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who hung on every word. Hope your curtains get hung up soon .

@Kropotkin…so you’re in education, have a balcony, and plant fuchsia to attract hummingbirds. I finally meet my doppelganger!

FCM. THANK YOU for complaining about how much food prices have gone up! It’s insane, but nobody’s been griping, so I thought it was just me. Also, for heaven’s sake, EAT. Applesauce, schmapplesauce, you need protein! Get some Greek yogurt or protein shakes. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

MetalMouse, congrats on the weight loss! That’s worthy of a group cheer. :tada:

wordy, FWIW, you’re A-OK in my book. I think you do well to handle everything as well as you do. I salute you.

VanGo, when my daughter and her hubs went to Thailand, they ate all kinds of street food with no issue, but ONE meal at a KFC made her so sick, she had to get treated at an ER. I hope you feel better.

This is very promising! Do you have access to fresh catnip? I’ve found that bribes and recreational drugs sometimes help.

FCM, I’m glad you are feeling better, kid krud is such a pain.

St. Cad I am very sorry about your dog. Those of us who are pet lovers understand the heart wrenching pain, folks who have pets don’t always feel it.

You used to live with these people, LOL! The problem with you being the host is that you can’t run back to your motel room for a few hours of aloneness.
\

It is very possible I will be within 50 miles of you. Shall we promise to wave at each other?

Mom’s sister died a few months ago and the family is having the memorial next week.) If you gots time, meeting up with a friend could be a good excuse to escape the group of people I rarely met when I was a kid and certainly won’t know when we meet at the memorial. Mom will have forgotten everyone and will have problems remembering where we parked, so if we do meet up, Mom will probably be with me cause I won’t trust a bunch of strangers to take care of her.

QFT.

Good call, shoe would be very loved there

QFT again. @purplehorseshoe I am also concerned that you are being set up. You aren’t being paid as a manager, the AM talks smack about you when you are sick and he talks smack about everyone else to you. He’ll throw you under the bus and then walk away without even thinking about it.

As to here, the wind has died down, thank goodness. This allowed the firefighters to get a bit of a handle on both Arizona fires. Some folks have been allowed to return to their homes, or what is left of where their homes were. Very sad.

We’ve had a huge flock of starlings hanging around. I’ve got tube feeders on the way, but I hate to give up the platform feeders, that’s where the bigger birds ate. Starlings are horrible invaders, they drive out all of the other birds and even kill Cactus Wren fledglings so they can take over the nest. I’d hate to give up feeding the birds altogether, but if the tube feeders don’t help to discourage them, bird feeding is over. Except for the hummers, they is different.

Van Go, I checked about avian flu after you mentioned it and the closest case to us is in Texas. You might need to stop feeding the birds, your area of the country looked pretty covered with cases.

They’ve been getting nipped, along with treats. Allie’s also been getting hairball goo (to her, that’s a treat too). We did have one little issue: Buddy has noticed Misty and at one point tried to swat at the cage (I’m surprised he can even SEE the bird, as tall as the cage stand is), and promptly got a serious hiss from Allie. OK, she’d been grumbling off and on anyway, but this looked/sounded like she was seriously mad at him for hassling the bird.

ETA: Buddy showed up earlier than he usually tends to, around 8:45 vs around 10.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

At least for a while, both cats were sound asleep. Buddy in my desk chair, Allie on the sofa (at least 8 feet apart, they do have line of sight to each other). Allie lifted her head when Buddy got a little vocal, but once he settled back down, so did she. I think this is progress, that they’re calm enough about each other’s presence to not feel a need to warily watch each other. I don’t expect cuddle chums any time soon, though…

Yeah, me too. Cuz the plot thickens further, and I’m still processing this @#$! and oh, man, am I boned here.

As I was leaving the meeting-that-coulda-been-a-text, A.M. comes running after me, asking for a favor. He’s asked me to go buy him smokes before (side note: his card was declined) so I thought he wanted something like that.

No, he wanted me to deposit the week’s money. He was all a-flutter b.c of some cater order he had to deal with. I said, “Are they gonna need ID? Cuz mine is expired.”
Nah! Nah! It’s fine, just go. Go!

Okay.

Y’all can guess where this is going … I was not able to make the deposit on A.M.'s behalf. Had to go back, with the weeks cash revenue still in the zipper pouch, and hand it back & explain what happened.

So a week’s worth of money was off camera, in my car. Easy set-up, and my only real defense (besides the fact that I didn’t TOUCH the contents) is WTF are you doing handing off that much $$ to an hourly non-manager.

Plus I wouldn’t put it past him to sell my car info to the cops & get me pulled over. Yeah, yeah, I’m a bad girl, as far as administrative shit goes, but I drive nicely and am a courteous driver.

Even just typing this out makes me realize how truly & unutterably :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: I am here.

Imma have a panic over this. If I don’t check in for a bit, it’s b.c I have figurative (or literal) fingers over my eyes and just can’t.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 with light rain, whatever that means. The biggest excitatement today is that cleanin’ lady will be here. She normally comes on Moanday, but asked if comin’ today would be OK when she was here last. Of course that is no problem. Sup shall be grilled chikin laigs, peas ‘n carrots, smashed N.O.T. and rolls. Borin’ but 'twill provide sustenance. I foresee lots of sloth today.

shoe if AM does try to accuse you of stealin’ money he will have to explain why he gave you the deposit instead of doin’ what I am gatherin’ is his job to make the deposits. Hope everything works out OK.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should make myself somewhat presentable before cleanin’ lady arrives.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

We all know you’re smarter than the average bear :).

@purplehorseshoe, listen to the nice ursine. Also, were there any witnesses to any of that part? I’ll fire up the pets for purrs and coos that this mess sorts out.

Buddy stayed until about 2:15, then asked to go out the patio door. I tried to tell him he’d be stuck there, but he successfully jumped a “cat-escape-proof” fence (sigh). I’m sure he’ll be back in the next day or so. We typically see him in the evening/night hours. Leasing manager (who also feeds Buddy aka Red and lets him hang out) says he’s pretty sure Buddy has at least another set of humans in a different part of the complex, which might be where he goes during the day. We had one episode of Buddy bugging the bird, and Allie rushed over hissing and chased him away from the vicinity of the cage. Surprisingly, she seems a bit protective of Misty.

Don’t fret - today I’m feeling back to normal, and I had a relatively normal breakfast (PB&J on toast.) My gut’s still a bit off-kilter and my daughter, who’s just about over this same thing, gave some stellar advice: don’t trust farts. :open_mouth: I expect there’s a story behind that. Anyway, I had a good sleep and I plan to attack my chore list. So, I’m baaaaaaaack!!

Big plan for today is stripping the bed and taking the electric blanket off. I’m also going to try to mow the ditch before the rain moves in this afternoon. And there’s all kinds of general tidying before I get the Tobester back tomorrow. Plus I need to start meal-planning again - what a bummer after having someone else deal with that for a week!

It’s overcast and they’re saying frost may be on the way - weather is stoopit! Other than that, just another day in Paradise. Happy Tuesday!!

maybe it was “ship lag” from the cruise? cause it sounds like what happens to me when I get jet lag …

condolences cad for the puppy …our miracle cat is looking shes not going to be able to shake off the next stroke … God knows how many she had we don’t know about ,

yeah shoe you need to talk to someone in corporate about this cause it sounds like some shady shit is going on and swampy you make normal dinner sound like its worth eating … if I lived close id have to help with the grocery budget because id be eating there at least 3 or 4 times a week

still fighting for my aunt’s check … a 3rd interview is a tomorrow so we shall see if that gets done… but my worker jokes he’s never taking off of work again …but since the temp lady started the process she gotta finish it so sayest la county and state of ca …

No, it was a stomach bug that worked its way thru my daughter’s family to me when I played with my grandkids after we got back. Considering we’ve been boaters for most of our 38 years together and we’ve been cruising on and off for 10 years without issue, I know it had nothing to do with the cruise.

ahh k just curious since it sounded like what happened to me when I left 30 below Indiana for 80-degree SoCal …

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s 12C/54F, weather app says “Fucking cool and partly fucking cloudy” which looks about right.

Moom glad to hear you’re feeling better and it wasn’t anything more serious than an attack of the collywobbles.

shoe I agree with everyone else, sounds like he’s setting you up to take the blame for his wrongdoings. Anonymous tip to somewhere, or a word with someone in your HR/corporate section too, just so that you are covered, that will also highlight the fact he’s asking you to do something way outside your area of responsibility in depositing the takings. If there is some paperwork that goes with the deposit, that will confirm the amount of cash in the bag but it would be a good idea to have him count it (in front of you and/or other witnesses) the instant you come back, so that he can’t later accuse you of anything. Definitely someone who needs a watchful eye.

Cad sorry to hear about the pup, it’s never an easy time but you gave her a great life and she knew she was loved.

I had a much better night’s sleep yesterday so am feeling able to deal with the day. This afternoon promises me an hour session on “emotional mapping” which is probably going to just make me yawn. Lunch and a good strong cuppa to get me through that!

Showered and dressed. Bed stripped and remade, and sheets in the washer. Dishwasher loaded and about to start sloshing. I’m having some ice water because suddenly I’m feeling overheated. I don’t think I’m 100% quite yet. I think it’s time to sit and read till the laundry needs to be swapped into the dryer.
