CanadaDope 2017: Celebrating the Sesquicentennial - "... and loving it!"

Some would have it that Canada’s new Governor General is a Freemason plant bent on destroying the planet. She is a Freemason of the highest (32nd) degree, the motto of which is ad astra per aspera.

Some would have it that the planet has been under Freemason double secret probation ever since the return of the Martian Imperial Commandos, who’s motto is per aspera ad astra was secretly assigned to the Freemasons who were Martians in disguise, and who continued on in disguise as the pre-federation Star Fleet as documented in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Some would have it that proof of the above is confirmed through the musical notes reigning supreme over the Governor General’s arms, being from Marcello’s D- concerto for oboe, which was stolen by Bach for use in the culture destroying 50 Shades of Grey neo-porn film. Note that the notorious Freemason Mozart centered his Majic Flute on*ad astra per aspera* (and remember that the oboe is the backbone behind the flouncing flute). Note that Jean Luc Picard played the Ressikan flute, which is nothing more than a reedless oboe without the keywork, in his Mozart Trio – most importantly, note that this came about from his extemporal life on Ressika – a dead planet by Picard’s time.

Some would have it that the Earth is Ressika. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Well, regardless of the motto, I wish Ms. Payette good luck/bonne chance in her new job!

For some Ontario court attendances, rather than use the tele/vid conferencing facilities presently in use by the courts, a private American corporation out of Los Angeles has been proposed to take over this sort of thing for $65 per call to Los Angeles.

I do not want a private American corporation that is responsible to Californian and American laws, that will be monitoring all transmissions routed through it, that will not be able to block interception by the US government, and that will not have trained technicians in the courthouses to deal with the inevitable technical problems, being in control of access to justice in Ontario. Our access to justice through our justice system should be entirely Canadian, and must not be subject to the whims of the USA, or an American state, or a private American corporation.

Hear, hear!

Calgary: why is Mayor Nenshi in trouble in the run-up to the election? I thought he was pretty popular?

Bob Rae gave a good lunch talk today in TBay on how to go about improving governance so as to fully include aboriginal people in Canada – specifically, get the provinces and the feds to work together, and move much more power to communities / bands rather than govern from afar while not listening to the voices of aboriginal people.

Who’s watching the Grey Cup?

Looks like Calgary is the favourite. I like underdogs, so go Argos!

A wee bit of snow falling here in Ottawa.

"Wee bit ". Yeah, right.

I like Ricky more than Bo Levi, so I guess it’s the Argos.

Grumble grumble. Riders just needed to make one stop last week …

It’s going to be remembered as the Snow Cup if the blizzard keeps up.

It was only supposed to be 3cm. I think we’ve reached that already, and if the weather map was right it’s going to keep going all game.

Heck of a game!

Bo Levi is a showboater. Could have got the tying field goal and gone to OT, but he wanted to go for all the marbles on a spectacular touchdown pass. So the Argos win on an interception in the end zone.

I don’t watch much football, but even I was astounded at that choice. A field goal, especially after trying to move the ball a bit closer, was an almost certainty.

Ah well. Very entertaining.

Great game. And I can say it here, though I cannot at the local sports bar (where I watched the game), good for the Argos!

Kinda like being a Maple Leaf fan in Ottawa.

I must admit here, my friends know my allegiance to the Leafs, but I also fake allegiance to the Senators. I secretly want the Senators to lose every game.

Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I head that!

“Psst! Grey gives head!”

Anyone tuning in to the stream of Neil Young’s concert on Friday night, live from Omemee?

I’m gonna love it.

It’s from Omemee? Gosh, CTV has been plugging it out here as a “secret concert, from ‘somewhere’ in Canada.”

For Neil Young, Omemee makes sense, though.

Yeah, the cat’s out of the bag. Omemee is the town he grew up in, and is of course, the subject of his song “Helpless.”

Blue, blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
Big birds flying across the sky
Throwing shadows on our eyes
