Lacey Spears has been charged, though pleads not-guilty, in the poisoning death of her 5 year old son. That’s pretty bad on its own, but the coverage suggests she did it, or kept doing it to drive up traffic to her blog.
In regard to the whole thread, I think there’s a difference between “least favorite” and “worst” so I don’t get to say that anyone’s least favorite shouldn’t be Michelle Obama or Lindsay Lohan or Angela Merkel, but I’m definitely curious to know what drives people’s choices.
A woman who was Surgeon General for sixteen months twenty years ago, whose crimes against humanity include suggesting that the effects of drug legalization on crime ought to be studied, and asserting the controversial view that masturbation is a part of human sexuality, is one of your “least favorite female human beings”?
Ahead of all the usual liberal bêtes noires like Janeane Garofalo, Rosie O’Donnell, Susan Sarandon? Really? You are nothing if not a man of distinct taste.
If it helps, I share your curiosity. But I’m content to rely on that old saw, “There’s No Accounting For Taste.” It’s like the old joke/story of the deeply religious man in his later years losing his wife, his house, his business, his children only to find he was dying of some incurable disease. He prayed loud and clear, “Why me, Lord?”
A loud voice could be heard in response, “Because, Son, you pissed me off!”
Isabel dos Santos is a real piece of work. She is the youngest daughter of the President of Angola and, with daddy’s help, has become the richest lady in Africa. Forbesdid an article about her last year.
Country/Western music has much the same effect on me as nails on a chalkboard so I would happily add any of the CW ladies to the list, but I don’t know any names.
Many of you way overestimate the influence of Jenny McCarthy.
Also interesting to see so many people that have used the criteria of “I don’t share the same opinions with this person” for inclusion on their nomination list for least favorite. Seems like an easy lame reason to pick someone.
I gonna stick in the evil camp and go with “mommas who murder their babies”.
I don’t dislike Lindsay Lohan, nor do I see why anyone should. I feel kind of sorry for her. I remember some years back, before she went off the rails, when she appeared coyly naked on the cover of some entertainment magazine. She would have been around 18 or at the time, and my first thought was that she was not being well-served by her advisors or her parents and that bad stuff was probably coming for her, though I could not have articulated why.
I don’t know how many Kardashian daughters there are, nor what any of them have done that is offensive. The mom’s kinda hot, though.
What have Palin and Coulter done other than be irritating?
My ultimate point here is that you rbar for least favorite is rather low, and the stipulation of female is a bit … worrisome.
Re. Michelle Obama the only thing I can think of was her quote about how for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country. That ticked a lot of people off.
It ticked a lot of WHITE persons off. Persons who don’t understand why a black American born in the 60s, however much they LOVE the United States, might not be PROUD of the country, have generally not given much thought to the way non-whites are treated in this country.
Your anger is misplaced. Yoko didn’t break up the Beatles. If anything, as The Second Stone pointed out, she postponed the break-up by giving John an emotional lifeline.
Yoko was the love of John’s life, and if you respect the man and his work, you should respect his opinion of Yoko as well.
If you really want to hate a Beatles spouse, you’d be better off hating Linda McCartney. Linda convincing Paul to let her father manage his business affairs had more to do with the break-up of the Beatles than anything Yoko did.
The point for this thread wasn’t whether she was right or wrong or whether the anger directed at her was, but just that it was something she said that upset people!
Ugh. I don’t think that anybody has mentioned this woman yet - largely (I suspect) because so few folks on this board even bother to watch MTV - but the individual who immediately came to my mind is Jenelle Evans, the most terrible f’ing person on Teen Mom 2. I mean, obviously she does not qualify as the most despicable female ever, but she is seriously one of the biggest losers and wastes of life that I have ever seen. I stopped watching that show a few years ago mostly because I couldn’t stand her shenanigans anymore, but every now and then you’ll see her pop back up in the tabloids for another ludicrous thing that she did, such as stalking her boss or aborting her recent pregnancy.
Beyond her…I don’t know. I really can’t stand Alex Wagner on MSNBC, but that’s mostly because she comes off as a smug arrogant talking head whenever she’s on screen. She may be perfectly pleasant in person, but I’ve no interest in finding out one way or another.
