Looks like a mixed breed to me (“Duh,” say the Teeming Millions) – what I mean is, a mix of lots of breeds, not just one or two, so I doubt anyone will be able to say “it’s an X crossed with a Y.”
The head, especially the snout, looks definitely shepard to me. The ears and tail look lab. The coloring of browns and black is shepard and the white could be lab. I vote Shepard-Lab-Something Else.
She looks an awful lot like our Sienna. We’ve figured that Sienna is probably a German Shepherd/Shar Pei cross. Here’s a better photo of her. Does your pup have stretchy or loose skin? If so, she might be like the 'Nenna.
I just adopted a puppy from the shelter and they also told me she was a german shepherd mix. My puppy looks just like yours! I was wondering if you ever found out what she is
It’s a cute dog, and it’s ears are just great. But they look pretty big. I wonder if the dog is gonna grow into those ears?
When you pull on the scruff of her neck, does it have a lot of loose skin. That may be a sign of a hound. It does look like it has German shepherd in her too.
I had a collie/shepherd when I was little and it was very different looking as a puppy. It looked just like a shepherd, but when it grew up, he looked much more like a collie
Beagle - Shepard and perhaps hound or lab. She’s going to be tall but the beagle is pretty clear. Her looks will change a bit as she matures of course.
You know, I was thinking, maybe it’s the wrong kind of “shepard”? Could it be an Australian Shepard mix? Something about the shape of the muzzle and the coloring there are more reminiscent of an Aussie than a German Shepard.
Definitely beagle in there. Possibly some sort of hound. Definitely an attractive mix!
Most shelter folk haven’t a clue or any training on breed identification. Anything that is brown and black with ears that look as if they will stand up on their own is labeled “German Shepherd”.
Shepherd-beagle looks very possible but is little too specific for my tastes. I’d call her a shepherd-hound mix. That face says shepherd, but those ears say hound to me.
