I’ll just point out that if you Google the username you will find that a similar post has been made on a number of message boards. The first returned link refers to him being banned by a philosophy forum for posting spam.
Not conclusive proof of anything, but it doesn’t help his case.
I was banned because I made a protest similar to this one, after a post similar to this one. To me that proofs their incapacity to understand the basic fundamentals of justice, at least here I have the right to disagree.
I have many philosophers in my collection, why should I keep that information? If you were in my case, wouldn´t you go there?
People should see a little difference between trying to sell and try to evaluate the possibility of this becoming a business.
You’ve posted this same exact message in camera forums, high-yield investment forums, small business forums, a product rewards program forum, a website publisher forum, a UK business lab forum and an astronomy forum, just to name a few. As far as I can tell, your initial posts in most of the forums you’ve been to have been extremely off-topic for those forums.
No cats at all? That’s too bad. You could check out a few kitty picture threads, caricature a few of the popular ones, and throw them up on one of the picture-hosting websites, like Flickr.
I’ve seen a number of boards and groups that had a great initial purpose, but they had too many people come in and post links. Sometimes it’s to stuff that is undeniably spam, sometimes it’s just “Hey look what I did!”, sometimes it’s stuff in between. But whatever the motive of these posters, the effect is to drown out the discussion of whatever the group is supposed to be about.
And since you have this pattern of behavior, I would call you a spammer. It doesn’t matter if you are actually trying to sell something. One of our most notorious spammers isn’t trying to sell anything, he’s trying to Spread the Word (incoherent and nonsensical as it may be).
There are millions of people who are trying to get more exposure for their art, or music, or pet cause. If we (the moderation staff) didn’t remove spam, then we’d lose a great deal of our posters, because the boards would very quickly fill up with nothing BUT spam. And I assure you, our regulars are very quick to report spam, even if they never report anything else.
You can call me whatever you want, if that gives you any pleasure.
The post is going long, maybe people aren´t reading it all, or not considering some things. I explained I understand your motivations, and explained mine. If I were a typical spammer, maybe I was long gone… it’s no use to discuss this to who keeps seeing this just in their own perspective and interest.
The posts I made in several forums are similar, but they aren´t just the same. Is not really very honest to say that. Specially because if you if you gave yourself the work to investigate that, you could see that I have many good receptions and conversations.
If you are going to report what you found, maybe I can report what you possibly didn´t find.
Some of you only focus in the spam/not spam issue. That’s what’s a little sad.
Like Galileo said, he expected that at least is effort was recognized. We’re talking not only on spam but in years of hard work too, from my point of view.
(That Galileo reference was the one that got be banned from the Philosophy forum)
Dude, you are not Galileo. You are not fighting some glorious struggle for internet freedom. You are essentially coming into someone else’s home and peeing on the rug. We’re telling ya to stop that, and if ya do, you can stick around and join the fun. You keep on with the “oh poor little misunderstood me stuff” and this isn’t going to end well for you.
The link was deleted and nobody wants it back, so that problem is solved.
I didn’t say I’m Galileo, I made an analogy.
“We’re telling you to stop that”
I don’t think you speak for all, but you’re basically telling me that I can’t express an opinion on this matter.
“Oh poor little misunderstood me stuff”
This try to bring ridicule to others ideas doesn’t qualify as an argument and shows no respect for the other side.
“This isn’t going to end well for you”
If my link was a spam, this is definetly a threat. It underlines the previous comment.
You’ve already said you’re going away about 10 times. Join in and be sociable or go away, but trying to argue that the world is unfair and crying up a storm isn’t going to accomplish anything.
Previously, I proposed that we agree in understanding eachother motivations.
Without asking nothing, I don´t want nothing. Just to finish this propperly.
Apparently, what you want is to get the last word, and somehow leave us with the impression that we’ve callously abused a martyr for internet freedom. That ain’t flying. You fucked up. Your error was pointed out and gently corrected. You objected. The rationale was explained. You continue to object.
At this point, I don’t give damn. Stay, go, whatever.
You say that you understand why we have our rules, but on this board(and many others) you think that you should be the exception to the rules, without telling us what makes you so special. Throughout the internet you have intruded without caring whether or not you are on topic, because you seem to think that what you have to say and/or show us is more important than the purpose of the message boards and the rules that guide them. This is akin to going into an AA meeting solely to promote a new restaurant you own. You know what the topic is, you know what the rules are, but you don’t seem to care because you rate your own interests above the interests of others.
